ASUS has just announced two new smartphones, the ZenFone Max Shot and the ZenFone Max Plus M2. Both devices were developed by ASUS Brazil and will run on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon SiP 1 processors.
The ZenFone Max Shot features a 6.26-inch 19:9 FHD+ screen. It comes with 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB internal storage, expandable via a dedicated microSD slot. As for cameras, the Max Shot is equipped with 12 MP + 8MP wide angle + 5MP depth sensor triple rear cameras, while the notch on the front houses an 8MP camera with LED flash.
The ZenFone Max Plus M2 also features the same 6.26-inch 19:9 FHD+ screen, coupled with a 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, expandable via a dedicated microSD card slot. The Max Plus M2 is equipped with an 8MP front camera, while the rear sports a 12MP + 5MP depth sensor cameras.
As mentioned, both devices will be powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon SiP 1 processors. Measuring at 14mm, the SiP (system-in-package) processors have the application processor, power management, RF front end, audio codec, and other major components in one circuit. The Snapdragon SiP 1 is largely similar to the Snapdragon 450 SOC, with the SiP 1 utilizing an Adreno 506 GPU. Other features of both smartphones include a microUSB port, 4,000mAh battery capacity, dual SIM capabilities, and will operate on Android Oreo out of the box. ASUS has promised an Android Pie update for the two smartphones soon.
