More than its external features, much of the publicity that’s going for the recently announced Blackberry Z10 has something to do with its OS. And while there’s no doubt that the Blackberry OS 10 offers innovative and relevant features, we wonder how long will it take for an average user to figure out the phone’s basic functionalities.
Luckily, we’re not the only one wondering about this. Mashable has taken this curiosity to the next level and asked a few willing first-timers to execute basic tasks on the new Blackberry Z10. Watch out what happens when Android/iOS users meets the Blackberry OS 10:
So does this mean that the new Blackberry OS is not user-friendly? Well, it’s kinda early to tell, but judging from my experience when using the Dev Alpha device, I think that the platform was nothing short of great. However, as with any other new things in this world, it will take some time before a user can fully maximize the operating system’s great features.

Are they able to get back on the competition? hmmm, tingnan natin.

Pathetic video! Some hired dumbass android fans… They look totally stupid! These users might not have used smartphones at all… Anyone can easily search for the unlock button… Well, its anticipated… They know BlackBerry will be a competitor again. That’s why they’re doing crappy propaganda to turn BB down… I actually find Z10 and Q10 such professional devices compared to cartoon like UI of Android…
Jolo says:
Are you fucking stupid? Wala nga kasing unlock button ang new line of phones ng BB.

Blackberry is a piece of crap…Too late, too overpriced, tapos wala man lang better innovations compared sa mga existing mobile os

it’s not. this is based on QNX which has been running on playbook since its release and in might opion, QNX is the real master of multitasking with the buttery goodness of Windows Phones. I have the playbook and it has been my tablet despite apple and android offerings. I can’t plug those tablets then copy paste videos and play them natively, I’ve only been able to do that in playbook.play videos on website because flash is enables. i’m just hopeful that blackberry starts to catch up
Chinitoguy says:
This is a stupid video! Mashable payed stupid people to make BlackBerry 10 not user friendly. The unlock botton is just on top! Android and iOS users know that you need to press that botton to wake the screen and swipe the screen to unlock. On BlackBerry, there are two ways to unlock the screen. The other one is pretty obvious and the other is a gesture.
You can never bring a great device maker down. Only BlackBerry can stand up with the likes of Apple when it comes to build quality and hardware design. Google’s Android is no match for BlackBerry’s security. The BB10 is as unique as Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8.
onggp says:
Quite an unfair video. Of course, there is such a thing as a manual or tutorial leaflet that comes with the handset, which you should read. And of course there is a learning curve in any product that is new. It doesn’t mean that if they find it difficult to use for the first time that they can’t learn to use it at all.
jron says:
Did you watch the video? It says “…. with no instructions.” Sana ma gets mo.
onggp says:
@jron – I am fully aware that there were “no instructions”. That’s the reason why I posted that it was an unfair video in the first place. Hindi mo ba “na-gets”?
onggp says:
@jron – Yes, I am fully aware that there were “no instructions” given. That was the main point of my post. Sana na-gets mo yun.
reader says:
it’s the same thing when I gave my dad his ipad mini. we have to have a daily tutorial session (coffee time). now he is enjoying “facetime” with his grandson and always updated on facebook. just like new cars there’s always that learning period for you to become “buddies”.
ronjiedotcom says:
I think it’s the “Nokia” effect. Sa Pilipinas noon, nasanay tayo sa Nokia, na kapag humawak tayo ng ibang (dumb)phone from Samsung, Sony, Motorola etc., ang unang reaction ng iba ay “ay, hindi user friendly.” But the truth is, nasanay lang kasi tayo sa Nokia interface.
anthony Desilva says:
You conveniently forgot to tell viewers that the phone has a tutorial built in that lets you very quickly get accustomed to navigating it. This is a worthless piece of reporting. You should have given those same people the chance to go through the tutorial and then seen what their reaction was.
