Huawei recently introduced in the Philippines its latest smartphone, the Huawei Y6s. It’s an entry-level device with capable specs for light users. If you’re looking for reasons to get this phone, let us give you the reasons why you should.

Want something with a big display so you can easily browse your favorite websites, view photos, or watch videos? The Huawei Y6s can handle that thanks to the 6.09-inch Dewdrop display. It has a 1560 x 720 resolution, which is equal to a decent 283ppi and an IPS panel for accurate colors and good viewing angles. It also boasts a TÜV Rheinland certified screen that can black harmful blue light so you can look at the screen longer without straining your eyes.
Yes, it’s an entry-level device, but it doesn’t have to look dull. In the case of the Huawei Y6S, it comes in two nature-inspired colors. There’s Orchid Blue with a glossy upper and matte lower, which can resist fingerprints and smudges. The other one is Starry Black with reflective particles that shimmers when hit by light.
The Huawei Y6s features a MediaTek Helio P35 CPU, 3GB of RAM, which is good enough for light to moderate users and background processes. For storage, it has 64GB that uses EROFS technology to automatically compress the pre-installed files into a smaller size for up to 2GB more storage saved in the other apps. If you want more storage, you can expand it using microSD cards at up to 512GB capacity.
Some entry-level smartphones don’t offer much when it comes to biometric security. Still, in the case of the Huawei Y6s, it has a fingerprint scanner at the back and supports Face Unlock using the selfie camera. Not only Y6s is more secure, but it is also more convenient to unlock for the owner.
Earlier, we mentioned that the Huawei Y6s features a large screen, which is excellent for watching videos. To make the viewing experience better, the device also features a Super Linear Speaker and smart PA, which Huawei says can deliver deep bass and bright treble.
If you like taking photos, the Huawei Y6s features a 13MP rear camera with a wide F1.8 aperture. For selfies, it has an 8MP sensor with an F2.0 aperture. It may not be much, but the resolution is enough for uploading to your favorite social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok.
Last but not least, we have the 3,020mAh battery. It may seem small in today’s standards, but for an entry-level device, it’s more than enough to last a day for a casual user. It also uses Huawei’s intelligent battery optimization to make sure no apps or services are unnecessarily consuming power.
The Huawei Y6s is priced at PHP 6,990USD 119INR 10,098EUR 113CNY 867 (3GB + 64GB) and will be available in stores starting December 14, 2019.
