BlackBerry announces Z3 and Q20 smartphones

BlackBerry has announced two new smartphones at the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona – the all-touch BlackBerry Z3 and the keyboard-equipped flagship BlackBerry Q20.

BlackBerry didn’t disclose a lot of information about the two upcoming handsets except for the fact the the BlackBerry Z3 will be an affordable device and will sport a 5-inch display, a “long lasting battery”, a modern design.

The BlackBerry Q20 on the other hand, will be the company’s new flagship device and will feature a 3.5-inch display, a QWERTY keyboard, a trackpad, four function buttons (Menu, Back, Send, End), and a “large battery”. In addition, the device will be “crafted from premium materials and designed for reliability and durability.”

Both devices will run the latest BlackBerry OS 10.2.1 at launch.

The BlackBerry Z3 smartphone is expected to be available from leading carriers and retailers in Indonesia in April for under $200, while the BlackBerry Q20 will be available in the second half of 2014.

“BlackBerry is beloved in Indonesia and its loyal fans have made it a popular smartphone brand. This is why we are so proud to be able to help bring BlackBerry even closer to Indonesia with a fantastic product that will be accessible to even more Indonesians. This is only the beginning of what we know will be a long and fruitful partnership between Foxconn and BlackBerry,” said Terry Gou, Founder and Chairman, Foxconn.

Okay naman ang Blackberry. Marami lang talaga ang nahuhumaling sa magagandang apps ng apple at android. Pero kung usapang business at literal na smartphone, number 1 pa rin ang blackberry. Sana ma-regain nila ang business nila.:)

after q10, ayoki na sumugal ulit. almost useless app market. di ko namamaximize unit ko. i’d rather buy a winmo phone

Do not buy a blackberry if you want tons of apps. Get an android or iPhone instead. WinMo doesn’t even have it either. Q10 is a great device for productivity, and now that the BB10.2 update is here which lets you install native android apps directly, it just got better.

Update: specifications of the Z3 came in and the 5″ display boasts a qHD resolution and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 chipset and 1.5GB of RAM. Internal storage is 8GB, but there’s no information if there’s a microSD card slot available.
