Boracay thru the lens of the HONOR 8C

HONOR’s latest budget smartphone is here and we brought the HONOR 8C to a recent trip to Boracay to see how it can keep up with the people, the beautiful scenery, all the fun activities, including the heat of the sun.

Boracay is a world-renowned beach resort, spanning several kilometers of pure and super-fine white sand. Tourist from all over the world flock this destination for the beautiful coastline and upbeat vibe.

It had been a hot topic last year when the government decreed a 6-month closure to rehabilitate the island. After the rehabilitation, the place is more organized, less crowded and cleaner than before.

If you want to test how good your camera phone is, Boracay would be one of the best places to do it. The island can range from relaxing to exciting due to the locals, multiple scenic spots, and fun activities. Good thing we had the HONOR 8C with us to document our recent trip and we want to show you some of the shots taken from this phone.

As mentioned, there are plenty of spots in Boracay so as much as you can, try to visit them. One of them is the Puka Shell Beach which is a favorite island-hopping destination on the island. It also has pure-white sand that has a coarser texture due to the shells in the sand. The clear waters, on the other hand, is perfect for a quick swim any time of the day. Best of all, it’s much less crowded than Boracay beach and there may be a chance you’ll have the entire stretch of sand all by yourself.

On a busy week, mostly during summers (March-May), the place is a bit crowded with tourists and vendors alike. You can walk the whole stretch and pick buy some souvenirs from the locals. You can also go on a food trip along the way. And when you’re done, just pick a spot, grab a fruit shake or fresh coconut juice, get a massage and relax under the shade. The best time to visit Boracay is during the cool season from November to February.

Speaking of food trips, you have a wide choice of fresh produce from the sea. They’re the fresh catch of the day, ready for you to choose from and cook however you like. TIP: I wouldn’t recommend you to buy fresh seafood in front of hotels/restaurant. Instead, go to Boracay’s wet market, like the popular the D’Talipapa where you can get cheaper price for the seafood. You can also try to visit Talipapa Bukid at Station 3.

If you fancy some outdoor activities under the sun or underwater, there are tons to choose from. Just approach the stores and the locals they’ll help you get sorted.

If you want a remembrance from the trip, you can go get a henna tattoo. For exciting activities, go on a banana boat or flyfish ride with friends, go snorkeling or scuba diving, helmet diving, para-sailing which is perfect for sunset watching, standup paddling, mermaid swimming, parasailing, zip line, ATV ride, and island hopping. There are some ways to get a cheaper and more fun adventure in Boracay, some people come to you and offer activities in a package but they offer different prices, so if you know how to bargain use your powers/charm. And if you don’t like the package that they offering you can just replace them with other activity.

The island is full of surprises. Here in Boracay, you can find good food especially in D-Mall at Station 2. There are so many restaurants or kiosks to choose from and every of it might be a hit or miss affair.

To beat the summer heat, try this flavored shaved ice at Php200USD 3INR 289EUR 3CNY 25 per serving. Try the mango or coconut. You can find mango dessert in every corner of Boracay.

The key to exploring Boracay is you must be open to new experiences. By that, you’ll see the beauty of paradise. Meet new people and get out of your comfort zone like it’s the end of the world. With the help of HONOR 8C, my trip in Boracay gets more memorable and with its 13MP + 2MP rear camera, you can able to capture paradise’s beauty. The overall quality of the photo is not bad and the colors are accurate. What you see is what you get.
