Cat has announced their new smartphone and this time, it’s got something more than a rugged body — it can see heat signatures.
The Cat S60 has all the features of a usual Cat handset with a military spec body but with a modern Android smartphone inside. It’s powered by a Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. It’s got a 4.7-inch HD display with wet finger and glove support. We have a 13-megapixel rear camera w/ dual-LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera plus a large 3800mAh battery. Good news is that the S60 will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
And the main star of the S60 is its built-in FLIR thermal imaging camera with just sits alongside the main rear camera. With this, the smartphone is aimed for extreme purposes like search and rescue missions, and other applications.
