Table of Contents
The Cherry Mobile Aqua S10 Pro has a slightly larger screen than the Xiaomi Redmi 10. However, the 0.17-inch difference is negligible. Both also have the same 2400 x 1080 resolution.
However, the Redmi 10 has the advantage of having a 90Hz refresh rate for smoother visuals and Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
MediaTek G-Series chipsets power both. The Cherry Mobile Aqua S10 Pro is powered by a Helio G90 announced in 2019, while the Redmi 10 uses a newer Helio G88. But based on NanoReview’s benchmarks, the G90 performed better. We’ll know more once we have both units in for benchmarks and review.
The Aqua S10 Pro only comes in 6GB + 128GB, while the Redmi 10 comes in 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. While both have LPDDR4X RAM, the Aqua uses a faster UFS 2.1, while the Redmi uses eMMC 5.1.
When it comes to memory expansion, the Aqua S10 Pro has a dedicated microSD card slot, while the Redmi 10 uses a hybrid setup.
Both devices are equipped with four rear cameras. In addition, both have 2MP depth and macro cameras. The Redmi 10, however, has a higher resolution main and ultra-wide cameras. But when it comes to selfies, the Aqua S10 Pro has a higher front camera. Do note, though, that these are just resolution and doesn’t guarantee quality. We’ll know more once we have reviewed both devices.
Both devices are limited to 4G LTE and have WiFi ac, USB-C, GPS, fingerprint scanners, and a 3.5mm audio jack. However, Redmi 10 is loaded with an IR blaster, NFC, dual-speakers, and FM radio, which is good for those looking for those features. Software-wise, both are powered by Android 11.
When it comes to battery, both have a large 5,000mAh capacity but differ in charging tech. The Aqua S10 pro has a faster 30W, supports 10W wireless charging, and boasts Liquid-Cooling Technology. The Redmi 10, however, has a slower 18W fast charge but supports 9W reverse wired charging, meaning it can function as a power bank for other devices.
The Cherry Mobile Aqua S10 Pro is priced at PHP 7,999, while the Xiaomi Redmi 10 is priced at PHP 7,590 for the 4GB + 64GB, and PHP 8,590 for 6GB + 128GB.
Which one to get?
If you’re looking for a device with a more powerful chipset, faster storage type, dedicated microSD card slot, higher front camera resolution, faster charging with support for wireless charging, and your budget is under PHP 8K, go with the Cherry Mobile Aqua S10 Pro. But if you need a high refresh rate display with Gorilla Glass 3, higher rear camera resolution, IR blaster, NFC, dual-speakers, and more flexibility for your budget, get the Redmi 10.
