One of the new smartphones that Cherry Mobile launched last night is the Flare S6 Selfie, packing a 5.7-inch display, octa-core CPU, 3GB RAM, and 16MP front camera. Check out our unboxing and first impressions below.
Out of the box, the Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Selfie comes with your standard accessories. There’s the charger, USB Type C cable, in-ear headphones, manuals, and SIM tray ejector tool. Sadly, it doesn’t come with a jelly case, but the unit itself already has a screen protector installed.
The Flare S6 Selfie sports a 5.2-inch screen with 2.5D curved glass. It doesn’t have an 18:9 aspect ratio but has a Full HD resolution or equal to 423ppi which is better than the Flare S6 Plus’s 282ppi.
Placed above the display is a 16MP Samsung S5K3P3 camera, receiver, and LED flash.
Down below are the unlit capacitive keys for Recent Apps and Back. Placed in the middle is the Home button that also doubles as a fingerprint scanner.
On the left is the hybrid SIM tray that accepts two micro SIM cards with the SIM 2 slot for the microSD.
On the right are the power/lock button and volume keys.
Found up top is the 3.5mm audio port, while down below are the main microphone, USC Type C port, and loudspeaker.
Flip it on its back is the protruding 16MP Samsung S5K3P3 main shooter along with the LED flash. Also visible here are the two antenna bands which leaves a noticeable gap from the body, unlike the ones found on the Flare S6 Plus which feels smooth and seamless.
On the hand, it feels premium thanks to its metal body. It’s also comfortable to hold thanks to the curved edges and relatively light body.
The Flare S6 Selfie is priced at Php7,999 and will be available this October. Stay tuned for our full review.
