Cherry Mobile Hyper now out for Php5k

Posted on their Facebook page, the Cherry Mobile Hyper is a new 5-inch Android smartphone that sports a dual-core processor, a 2,000mAh battery, dual SIM capabilities and more, all for a price of Php5k.

The Cherry Mobile Hyper boasts a 5-inch display, reminiscent of other CM phones, with a resolution of 480 x 800, along with a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon MSM8625 CPU. It’s running on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, and the 5MP has flash and can shoot 720p video.

The phone will be available in black and white color variants and it will retail for Php4,990. CM has been releasing a lot of phones lately; just today, CM’s facebook page also posted a teaser saying “another dragon is rising”. That obviously points to a possible successor of the well-marketed W900 Dragon Phone from the company. Stay tuned for further announcements.

Yung CM Flare ko kabibili ko lang nagkakaroon po ng blot sa lcd screen nya then pinalitan naman tapos nag hahang and ayaw na mag open nakalagay lang sa screen ” Android is updating ” hanggang ma drain, dinala ko sa CM store na binilihan ko inayos ng tech tapos pag uwi ko nag doownload ulet ako ng apps ganun na naman nga biglang nag hang tapos tinaggal ko battery kasi ayaw mag power off pag on ko “Android is updating” na naman nagtataka ako yung apps na nilalagay ko kaparehas lang nung nilagay ko na apps sa CM Flare ko parang hindi nya kaya pero same specs naman ang Hyper ng Flare, kaya magpapalit na lang ako ng unit baka Flare na lang ulet kasi pwede ko daw palitan pag ganun ulet ang problema , baka factory defect sa batch ng lumabas na CM Hyper ?

For techies out there, I noticed that the CM Hyper is already pre-ROOTED and confirmed it via root checker. So I immediately installed Superuser, ROM manager, Titanium backup, rootappdelete, etc… with no difficulty….
Now I’m planning to check out how Ubuntu linux would work in this phone.

I agree. 512kb of RAM couldn’t cut it in 1987 and probably won’t be enough in 2013. =D

four versions lang ng scribe yung nakita ko s gsmarena. from the specs na posted s poster ng suncellular, parang eto yung scribe na LTE version…

may problema sa screen ang phone na ito, madaling mag-wash out yung screen from left. Konting tilt lang, nawawala na yung image. Comparing the viewing angles from the right, up and bottom, OK naman sya.

would have been nice if the resolution is at least around 1280 x 720. WVGA just doesn’t look good on a 5′ device. but again for that price range? im not complaining. :)

For 5k, I think this is value for money. If you plan to buy the Flare, get this instead. Add na lng ng 1k.
