Three new smartphones under the Omega series of Cherry Mobile is expected to hit the shelves for the holiday. As taken from the Q4 brochure, the new devices feature Android Lollipop out of the box.
The cheapest among the them is the Omega HD 3 with a 5-inch HD display. It is powered by a 1.3GHz Quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. Storage is at minimal with 8GB but it can support up to 32GB of microSD. It is also equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It has Dual-SIM support with HSPA+ connectivity for just Php 2,999.
The Omega 4G levels up the game with LTE. While it sports a rather slow 1GHz Quad-core processor, it packs a better 5-inch HD IPS On-cell display, 2GB of RAM, and a bigger 16GB internal storage. It also has a microSD card slot for expansion up to 64GB. An upgraded 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera is also in tow for Php 4,499.
Another one comes with the name of Omega HD Nitro. It is similar in terms of specifications with the Omega 4G but a slightly faster Quad-core processor at 1.1GHz. It is also priced at Php 4,499.
These new Omega smartphones from Cherry Mobile expands the already wide selection from the brand. Though, we are skeptical with the 1GHz processor stated on the brochure. We’ll have to look into that.
