Cherry Mobile just posted a very intriguing photo on their Facebook page, featuring the Cherry Mobile Skyfire, Flame and Omega.
Earlier this week, the company teased us by posting a photo with “CherryBeans!” as its caption. Surely that is an indication that they will be offering Android phones running Jellybean.
After that, Cherry Mobile changed their cover photo; it featured the Skyfire and two other Android phones, namely Flame and Omega. The specs were pixelated to further our excitement, but if you inspect closely, you can make out with what the text conveys.
The Flame is expected to have a 4.5 inch IPS display with a qHD resolution of 960×540 pixels. On the other hand, the Omega might come with a 5.3 inch display and Android 4.1 Jellybean.
No other details were given but we’d expect it to come with very affordable prices and powerful specs.

Battery life of the CM flare is just fine
it depends in the user it self, if you dont know how to manage the running application ofcourse battery runs down faster,
mj says:
it should run at least 4.1.2 or 4.2 (the latest at the moment)
KomanderKool says:
It will hopefully fix the g-sensor, messaging app and install FM radio…
Wooyoung says:
Starmobile Astra’s OEM is I-mobile I-Style Q2 Duo of Thailand.

Guys, ok b ung Cloudfone Thrill 430x? I’m planning to buy one instead of Flare. My brother’s using Flare right now, ok nman cya pro may problem ata s gyro kc pag naglalaro ng temple run pumupunta s left ung runner pag nilapag mo s flat surface.
William C says:
The left leaning gyro of the Flare is very slight. It won’t affect gameplay that much. Easy to compensate. You don’t play that game with the phone seated flat naman. But some other games, might not work as well.
I don’t find the gyro on the Flare annoying. It’s the battery life. It won’t last an afternoon, if you hang around a wifi hotspot and surf for a couple of hour or two. Even a fully charge phone will have it’s battery indicator drop 5% in a few minutes with light surfing. (Download Battery Circle for numeric battery readings).
As for the Thrill 430x, The battery is huge and should last much longer. But so would the charging time. From low batt to full charging should take more than 5 hours.
Another thing with the Thrill 430x, is that it has a awesome screen. But the casing is very spartan. It doesn’t look classy (unlike myPhone a919). You can tell that it is a Chinaphone at first glance. The plastics are kind of like that of the Orbitz (One of Cherry Mobile’s first Android phone). The Battery is huge but it also has that Chinaphone quality to it.
Then their the weight. The Flare with it’s 4″screen have a nice feel to it. Right size, right weight. If it has lower battery life and the screen is truly IPS, it would have been a perfect phone. The Thrill 430x on the other hand is a heavyweight. Although you can get use to it after awhile. Nakakapagod lang siguro, if you hold it for long sessions. And don’t ever use it while in bed, baka antukin at mahulog sa ulo mo. Bigat niyan… :)
Another word on almost all these rebranded phones. The 3G is very very weak. Mapa-myPhone, Cherry Mobile, Starmobile, or Cloudfone. Most only registered on their 2-G network. My Samsung S2/Pocket will register on 3G, even if talagang medyo mahina signal sa amin. I use these Smartphone almost exclusively on Wifi… be warned…
And lastly, not all ICS are created equal. myPhone and Starmobile Astra’s interface is neat with the dual sim labeled by name and color coded. The Flare labeled it as Sim 1 and Sim 2. Cloudfone have it as Sim 1 and Sim 2 (but you can rename it but not color code). Other Cherry Mobile might have a different ICS , since iba-iba source yata nila. Their W100 (Dragon Phone/Single Sim/Gingerbread) has a very nice UI, but wala nito sa Flare.
Another nice feature from MyPhone and Starmobile Astra is scheduled power-on and off. Wala yata sa iba…
Of these phone mentioned, the myPhone a919 has style (parang Galaxy SIII). The Cloudfone Thrill 430X has the best screen and best battery. The Flare has the best form-factor but anemic battery life. I hate the Titan non-IPS screen, so I didn’t play with it too long to form an impression. The Starmobile Astra seems decent and with analog TV bonus, but I wonder if it’s battery is any better than the Flare (same 1500mah rating). Personally, I go for the Thrill 430x since Smartphones are not smart if it conks out on you in the middle of the day. But that’s just my own opinion.

CM is a rebrander company.
Best way to do it is to search for original name of the unit.
Excited naq dito.
William C says:
Cloudfone is a competitor to CM. The Thrill 430x is their pang-tapat sa Flame at Skyfire.
Foxconn is an OEM company, it (or its subsidiaries) assemble PC/Laptops/iPhones for other companies. But I think most of it’s clients are multinational companies like Dell, HP, and of course, Apple.
I think most of these rebranded local Smartphones are made by smaller OEM companies, these have more dubious quality control. But i could be wrong. After all, many of Cherry Mobile’s Tablets are made by Ainol.
William C says:
If looks is not a consideration, The CloudFone Thrill 430x could give these Cherry Mobile phones a run for their money.
1.2 Ghz Snapdragon
4.3 IPS Screen qHD (same resolution as the Flame)
and best of all 4160maH battery (More than double Flare’s and double that of the Titan/a919.
Downside? It’s hefty and the looks is spartan compared to the a919.
Price: 7,777
(Disclosure: I am not connected to any phone company, just like to play with these gadgets)
Does the Flare have a true IPS screen? Unlike the myPhone a898, Starmobile Astra, and the Cloudfone Thrill 430x, the Flare’s sceen’s color will wash out at an angle (especially when viewed from the top), it’s way better than previous LCD screens, but it will still washed out (colors, that is). The other mentioned (a919/Astra/Thrill 430x) have a wider viewing angle from all sides (170 degrees) and are likely true IPS. But I am doubting the Flare’s claimed IPS screen, or are not all IPS created equal?
Another thing with these phones is their 4GB memory claim. I understand, that a portion will go to the OS, and the installed apps. But some like the Flare is partitioned so that only around 600MB is actually internal memory. The rest acts like an internal SD card (which is actually not of much use, given most people will have a microSD card anyway). Even the Thrill 430x, have only around 1.2Gb of internal space, 1.7 GB acts as internal SD card.

Only if the unit is a big success in other countries.
Natatawa ko sa mga comments na hindi daw porket china phone ito eh OK na OK na, dahilan pa eh ang Apple ay made by Foxxcon in china.
Hello? Most rebranded phones ay made in china but NOT BY FOXXCON! For all we know, rebranded phones ay ginawa lang from some run off the mill factory dun.

How about customization? Is there a way to manually update these units, something like Odin for Samsung?
jayr says:
thanks guys…so we have rebranded phones.
Flare = karbonn a9+
Titan = Spice Mi 500
Flame= karbonn a21
Omega=Zopo ZP900
Myphone a919 = Micromaxx a110
have watched reviews of these rebranded phone in youtube..nice.

Cm Flame aka karb0nn smart a21 .. :D
Slip says:
ung Omega ata is Zopo ZP900 Leader.
Olie says:
Omega is not ZP900 (I wish it is though). No physical home button on the omega and the curvature is different on the corners
jayr says:
hi guys would you know whats the rebrand name of Omega, skyfire and Flame?
Flare is Karbonn A9, MyPhone A919 is Micromaxx a110..
Houshunmk112 says:
No, they order the phone assembled. CM is not a manufacturer, they are only rebranders, same as MyPhone. Kaya yung mga phone nila is known sa ibang bansa as other brands, for example yung Flare, known sya sa india as Karbon a9+.
Laplace says:
Nope, the phone arrive here assembled already. Rebrander lang ang CM.
rhk111 says:
From what I understand, the components are sourced from China, which are then just assembled here in the Philippines. I wonder which company does it, and saan kaya ang planta nila rito?
Lobby says:
dave says:
parang hindi nman matibay ung c.m. kc parang maraming complaints about flare
ceegii63 says:
haha parang gawa na lang sila ng gawa ng new phone na may bagong FW version instead of updating older models so kung kakabili mo lang ng phone you will never see the new update
Andrew says:
I gotta say, Cherry Mobile is now improving. Keep it up! :)
takaku says:
This makes Cherry Mobile a serious threat to other mobile phone brands out there! Nice to see that Cherry Mobile is now more competitive on the pricing of their smartphones.
