Saw this one at one of the stores last night. Was surprised Konka is into mobile phones as well and this T808 TV phone could have been launched months earlier.
3.0″ VGA screen
Dual active SIM
GPRS
Handwriting recognition
FM Radio
2MP camera
dual Bluetooth
Micro-SD Card Slot
My guess is that the TV is just analog and OTA, not the one used by Smart for myTV which is digital. Still, you get ABS-CBN and GMA 7 for free on this phone. This model is priced at Php8,500 which could attract people looking into dual SIM phones.
By the way, you can use ANY text file (files ending in “.TXT”) as an e-book. Just save that file in the EBOOK folder (either on the SD Flash module or on the built-in phone memory, whichever is chosen as the default e-book folder) and open it. Just that easy. You can save an entire text file version of your favorite book and read it on your phone as an e-book. I even use it as a way to store my to-buy list whenever I go to the market or grocery. Very useful indeed.
I’ve been using my T808 for more than a year (I bought it December 2008, quite hot then) and it’s quite durable as compared to other brands. The dual sim feature is great, not to mention the free TV feature. Still got my two batteries, but I can only use the charger when I directly connect it to my phone: it no longer functions well as a good battery-only charger. I am able to browse WAP through its built-in browser feature. I am even able to browse the internet using my PC connected to that phone, well after installing drivers for the phone modem and configuring Windows for the connection. If I can get more time, I’ll try to visit this forum thread again soon and provide some instructions on how to use the phone as a GPRS modem…

some of you guys doesn’t know anything about this KONKA phone,,, you know what it is a china brand and it is not a clone from other cellphones like Nokia and others,,, and it has been approved by NTC unlike any other types of china phones,,, got it,,, that’s why it is not like the other brands of china phones which are being illegaly reproduced,,,
it is advisable to buy this phone konka t808, i like the features but im afraid when the battery explodes over charged..
Bought t808 konka at midtown mall for 7,800. promo with two gifts: electric fan n bag. Agent told me it will work in US but it didn’t. I triedbut phone don’t work because they said it is only dual band. Comment please, true or not? will appreciate it.
i have this phone.i bought it in SM southmall for 8,200..this looks like anycool t808 and letus t808 how about that?.sudio quality is good.
This is the same as the China phones. They say it’s a PDA but it is absolutely NOT a PDA. It doesn’t have an operating system like Symbian or Windows Mobile. That is why you cannot install new games or new softwares. It doesn’t have, and will never run Java. Therefore, it is impossible to open office files like Word, Excel, etc and PDF.
totoo yan matibay pa nga ata konka compared sa sony na tv na nabili ko na pagkamahal mahal grabe after a little over a yr sira na at grabe sa mahal ng parepair mas ok pa bumili ng bago!
yah i think ok etong konka na ito for a little more than the price of a china phone u get 1 yr warranty!
at mas maganda!
update po sa ebook ksi i also want to read ebook sana kaya nya basahin
thnx
I bought one at SM Bicutan. Nice features. For the price it is a steal. The TV tuner is my favorite.
kc i tried pdf and prc d nya ma read.. pls reply thank you!
@John – P8,500 using my credit card 0% interest payable in 6 months, I even can get it for only P8,000 if I buy it in cash. Just a special offer for me ;-)
How much did you get it for Lady A?
I bought this phone last Dec. 2009. Standard cellphone functionality is ok. It really works as a PDA but there is a 2-second delay before generating the output of your handwriting. Thus, it is likely that you’ll still do the texting using the keypad. Though the touch screen is really sensitive unlike other China phones where there are times that no matter how hard you try to use the touch screen, it doesn’t work so you’ll end up using the keypad. TV is ok if there is signal. I was fortunate there is a good signal at my house. Capturing picture at daylight is ok but you can’t really capture anything if subject lacks light because it doesn’t have flash. You cannot install games so you just have to settle with the 2 builtin games. I haven’t tried the ebooks. Audio quality is very good because of its dual speakers. Video is not quite good because sometimes video lags behind the audio. Maybe it still depends on the video format or the way you convert the video to 3gp. Memory is up to 2Gb micro-SD expandable. It has a free 512Mb memory and an extra battery. Over-all, I will just give it a rating of 6.5. Though I didn’t regret buying it because it’s very cheap.
i like this phone so ergonomical… for those who are asking where can you buy this visit COMPEX (yes, the conputer store) stores and they carry several models… if it is not in your budget you can opt for 6 months easy payments on CC…
I’m still contemplating in buying konka T808 cellphone. Does it really have 2MP camera or just 1.3MP? I’ve seen an article that said it’s only 1.3MP. though the main reason im buying this is it’s dual SIM capability, i want to make sure that I wouldn’t have to go after the support and warranty of the product because let’s face it, their warranty and repair service could be a crap. Though i don’t want to find that out myself, having the cellphone registered with NTC does not really guarantee the quality of konka’s products and services.
What about the features? does it really work as a PDA? can we make use of the full functionality of e-books as one of it’s features? what Operating System does it use?
T808 is being used as an analog TV and at the same time as a display for User Graphical Interface where we see the text, images, videos and other graphical contents. Can someone give the rationale why the video would pixelize. Hopefully, this is not the down side of this cellphone even the price is reasonable.
I found another URL for Edu Manzano’s online comment at Manila bulletin website:

Thanks
hay naku! dami pa pala mas engot ksa me. may nlalaman pa n fake taz KONKA d alam. tibay kya ng LCD tv ko n konka, most affordable pa!
kkbili lng nmin ng T808 for my wife.
tama po ung sabi nung isang nag-comment na ung mga branded phones eh may mga outsourced parts from china and most of them are actually assembled in china. check nyo po ung mga battery na kadalasan eh MADE IN CHINA ang nakasulat…
konka is an established name.
package differs from every country.
where can we buy this?… my hubby is very interested…
Im interested to get one, like Dewey and others comments, Edu Manzano liked this phone too and published his comment in the Online Manila Bulletin, Technews section, heres the link..

Konka product mas matibay pa kaysa Samsung and LG, since Konka chips and other electronics micro parts gawa mismo ng Konka. Unlike Samasung, LG, Nokia and Sony Erricsons nag-outsource lang din sa China ng mga parts nila and put it together in their manufacturing plant in China. sO YUNG MGA IPINAGMAMALAKI NINYONG BRANDED NA PHONES NIYO made in China yan. Yes Konka is a big name in China. Kung bibili kayo ng made in China products make it sure na existing and established yung company na yan sa China. Kaya kayo siguro napepeke because of your ignorant, peace…
hay naku…. why would you put your phone in a microwave? lame…
konka is a electronics brand from china… doesn’t necessarily mean na clone o fake… i don’t know about you guys… pero mukhang iilang brands lang ang alam nyo…
try visiting their site…
http://www.konka.com.hk/
from tv(i had one and is in good condition still -compared to sony na madaling masira!)
mobile, fridge, washing machines, air conditioning, and other small appliances… meron dito at legitimate company ang konka…
nice phone. let me try that.
konka konka konka!
that’s just the most stupid name i’ve heard for this day..
ei yugs.. any update on when Nokia 5800 Xpress Music coming in our shores?
WTF! this is old already! china phone has a built in LCD Projector on it! i want my 1 minute back!
I already tried it. I put my iphone inside the microwave oven for 3 minutes. It became a popcorn.
what will happen if you put a phone in a microwave?
@Paul
“Beware of buying these phones because i heard from a source that sometimes it explodes when over charged.”
I’ll wait for Brainiac to feature that. Nevertheless why not try something different? Put a China Phone in a microwave.
But, hey, it’s dual SIM capable! O___O
Pretty attractive for those with more than one SIM card. And the TV function is great.
exploding cellphones are scary.
This is a China Phone it was launched years ago, there are also cloned nokia phones like n96, n95 etc. Some of these phones are touch screen and has very big icons. These are fake phones from China and are not of a good quality. Beware of buying these phones because i heard from a source that sometimes it explodes when over charged.
