Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference will commence in a few more hours but people are already talking about what to expect from the Cupertino giant. This includes a big update to its mobile operating system — iOS.
From iOS 10, obviously, we’re now going to iOS 11 and there’s not much news about the changes until now. As spotted by developer Steve Troughton-Smith, the App Store had a placeholder listing for an app called Files from Apple.
The listing is already off the App Store now but before it was removed, a screenshot shows a few details about it including the requirement of the yet unannounced iOS 11 and its macOS-style icon folder.
Seems like Apple will finally let its users have their own local file management software, a feature other mobile operating systems have been enjoying for years. We’d have to wait until the official announcement later to see what is to expect from this Files app.
