a lot pda phones and highend mobiles (such as uiq and s60) already operate on simless mode. hence it is possible to use them with voip software. even the s60 voip client can be used on a regular wifi and voip services. heck, i got a n80 to work with our office voip system too.

I’m glad Nokia finally let their phones be used even without a SIM. You get to access the newer phones’ other functions, such as the organizer, stopwatch, etc. without a SIM. And it opens up a lot of possibilities, such as the one mentioned here.
