We recently came from Cebu to celebrate the city’s annual Sinulog Festival, but more than that, we were there to witness the local launch of the awaited ASUS Zenfone Zoom. We immediately tested its imaging capabilities by joining in on the festival with this camera-phone at hand and here are some sample shots.
Note: All photos came straight out of the camera with no photo retouching whatsoever. We only resized the photos to make it more web-friendly.
As the name suggests, the Zenfone Zoom does have good zooming capabilities. Notice the balloons in the sky…
Here is another shot using its 3x optical zoom:

And one at 3x zoom. There’s not much loss in picture quality.
Its laser auto-focus is able to effectively capture movements with its 0.03-second focus time.
Close up shots work well with a good depth of field.
It takes good silhouette shots, too.
