According to one of Android Authority’s trusted sources, both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will have Qualcomm Snapdragon 835’s, dual pixel cameras, eSIM support, and will be devoid of a 3.5mm headphone jack. Aside from these, the two devices will have some slight differences from one another.
No display sizes have been revealed, but the Pixel 2 will have a Full HD display, and the Pixel 2 XL will have a QHD Curved display with a Wide Color Gamut. Both will be covered in Gorilla Glass 5, and will feature an ‘Active Edge’, a Squeeze function much like the one on HTC’s U11. The batteries of the two devices also vary in capacity, 2,700mAh for the Pixel 2, and 3,520mAh for its bigger brother.
Despite the absence of a headphone jack, the phones will have dual stereo front-facing speakers, which will likely affect bezel size. Again, both phones will have dual pixel cameras with OIS and a Google Imaging Chip, and as expected, will come with Android Oreo out of the box. A rather delightful note from AA’s source, is that purchasing a Pixel 2 phone grants you unlimited Google Cloud storage all the way til the year 2023. The phones will come in 64GB and 128GB variants, but RAM has not been revealed.
We’ll have to wait and see if these hold true when Google launches these phones next week.
