This year, two smartphones, the Honor 10 Lite and Redmi Note 7, garnered fame due to their promising specs with affordable prices. In this specs comparison, we’re going to put them side-by-side to see which one has the upper hand in each key smartphone aspect. Let’s start!

Author’s Note: I chose these two smartphones because of their current popularity and they’re mostly mentioned by our readers. It turns out that have a very close price point as well.

Here are the advantages of each smartphone:

Honor 10 Lite

  • Higher pixel density
  • Better performing CPU
  • Higher front camera resolution
  • Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box

Redmi Note 7

  • Slightly larger screen size
  • Gorilla Glass 5
  • Better performing GPU
  • Larger maximum RAM capacity
  • Higher rear camera resolutions
  • Bluetooth 5.0
  • USB Type-C
  • Larger battery capacity
  • Quick Charge technology

Regarding display, both devices are already great for watching and streaming videos since they are already above the 6-inch screen size range with the same aspect ratio and resolution. The advantage of the Redmi Note 7, however, is that it has a stronger Gorilla Glass protection.

Performance-wise, we do not have the raw data of the benchmark scores of both devices. However, the Honor 10 Lite’s Kirin 710 and Redmi Note 7’s Snapdragon 660, is not new.

I have compared these two chipsets before with the Huawei Nova 3i and Xiaomi Mi A2, and it turns out that the Kirin 710 has better performing CPU performance while the Snapdragon 660 is better when it comes to gaming performance. Do note that these phones have 4GB RAM while the Honor 10 Lite only has 3GB. Check out the comparison here)

The Redmi Note 7 comes with a 48MP Samsung GM1 rear camera, a significantly higher megapixel value than the Honor 10 Lite. Before getting all hyped up about this, check out this article that my teammate made with regards to camera interpolation. I still can’t say which device has better camera performance, but you can check our sample shots from our hands-on video below.

Compared to the Honor 10 Lite, the Redmi Note 7 has a larger battery capacity with Qualcomm QuickCharge 4 technology. It means that if you are into battery life and fast charging, then you should get the latter.

In summary, if you are into selfies, faster CPU performance, and an updated OS, then you can go with the Honor 10 Lite. The Redmi Note 7, however, is a better choice if you want stronger screen protection, better gaming performance, larger maximum RAM capacity, a higher rear camera resolution, USB Type-C, and commendable battery configuration.

Here are their prices:
