Honor makes a huge splash at MWC 2023 in Barcelona by announcing the brand’s first foldable smartphone, the Honor Magic Vs. This could pose some competition to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold Series
Coming in with a great design, arguably better hinge placement than Samsung’s offerings and a no crease design. It weighs in at just 276g with a 12.9mm thickness with a 5000mAh battery with 66W Honor SuperCharge. It is also of note that this is the largest capacity battery amongst the foldable smartphones currently available in the market. Honor also claims that the hinge can withstand up to 400,000 folds or the equivalent of 10 years of usage which translates to about 100 folds per day.
The Magic Vs showcases a 7.9″ inner 90Hz OLED display with 2,272 x 1,984 pixels of resolution, HDR10+ support, and up to 800 nits of brightness. The outer display has a 6.45″ 120Hz OLED display with HDR 10+ support, 2,560 x 1,080 resolution, and 1200 nits of brightness. Powering this new foldable is a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage as well as an Adreno 730 GPU with GPU turbo X.
As far as cameras go, the Honor Magic Vs possesses a 54MP Sony IMX800 main camera, a 50MP ultrawide and Macro camera, and an 8MP telephoto snapper with 3x optical zoom. It also has 4K video recording and 2 16MP front cameras (1 for each display).
The Honor Magic Vs will retail for €1599 or PHP 93,790 and is available in Cyan, Black or Orange colors.
