HTC Desire arrives on June 18!

Got an insider tip that the HTC Desire will be launched in the Philippines on June 18, 2010. This comes as a surprise since the HTC Legend was locally released just a month ago.

The is very similar to the Nexus One and even deemed a bit better due to HTC’s home-brewed Sense UI.

HTC Desire
Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 1 GHz processor
3.7 inches AMOLED touchscreen @ 480 x 800 pixels
576 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM
up to 16GB on microSD
HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, HSUPA 2 Mbps
Bluetooth 2.1
WiFi 802.11 b/g
5 MP autofocus camera w/ LED flash
Stereo FM Radio
GpS with aGPS support

The HTC Desire runs Android OS, v2.1 (Eclair) out of the box but will surely be ready for a Android 2.2 Froyo upgrade.

We’re not sure how much the retail price will be but expect it to be higher than the HTC Hero and HTC Legend’s SRP — so Php35k to Php40k perhaps? We will soon find out.

Update: Got word that some stores are selling it for Php31,000USD 528INR 44,783EUR 503CNY 3,847

  1. Wow that is indeed a hefty price to pay for. I might as well get a good sold netbook with built-in 3G ;)

  2. Which network will carry this?

  3. Yung HTC Mini kailan rerelease? suppsoed to be mid-May eh pero la pa rin ata.

  4. cool! it lands on my birthday. i actually have two of these babies already from overseas. and i paid a whole lot less for UNLOCKED units that come with 4GB memory cards.

let’s see how much they sell it.

  5. I pray they would sell it for less than 30k >_<

  6. a bit pricey for a smartphone, might as well wait for the ipad to be available here.

  7. Sorry for mi english, Im from Spain, but how i can be updated when you make new post?

  8. HTC already publicly admitted that their phones are overpriced

  9. Go for HTC Legend it sells for a more affordable price

  10. Hi, can anyone help me with setting up my HTC Desire, di ko alam kung pano ung APN settings for Globe prepaid, di ko mapagana, pero ung settings ko tinry ko sa X10 ng boss ko gumana naman. huhu.

  11. Saw it sa greenhills. they are selling it at 31k

  12. i do hope HTC assess their pricing policy.
    they’re really really overpriced!
the Desire and N1 sells for $530 and at 50 pesos per dollar it would be only 26,500 and PH pesos are strong these days…

wouldn’t it be much cheaper to sell here since they might ship from China (assuming they are manufactured in China) than across the globe (from US)?

if only they sold it here at US pricing then I would not hesitate to buy an HTC product.

this might be the reason why the smartphone market is being dominated by samsung.

  13. got that phone hir in sydney..for just around $779 which is around 30Kphp +…

  14. Yawn, why did it take so long to launch it here? I got one months ago from Singapore. Great phone, but the screen is noticeable smaller than my HD2 and it makes a difference. After a few weeks with the Desire, I ended up putting my main sim in the HD2 and the Desire gets the secondary sim.

  15. We’re selling the HTC Desire at Php 28,800 with 1 year official HTC warranty. Check our our site at http://techmania.multiply.com. Thanks!

  16. do anyone know if the stores here in the phil already sell Legend? I plan to buy one on my birthday or at least some time around my birthday :)

  17. In sm annex, it is sold at around Php 34,000.. it was just received last friday.

  18. will the htc desire sold here in the philippines have the android marketplace icon?

coz some htc phones remove the marketplace menu due to country restrictions.

  19. If they are selling that HTC with a price ranging from 35-40 which is very ridiculous, well many might go with Iphone, if they want to compete with apple here in our country they should at least sell it with reasonable price like around 25k-30k

  20. guys sino meron price list nitong mga to ung manila price kng meron paki pm/mail sakin thx nru****@****.***

    HTC TOUCH 2
    HTC DIAMOND
    HTC TOUCH HD
    HTC TOUCH
    HTC T800

  21. i do have this phone… does someone else have it here? have you already updated to froyo 2.2? atat na ata na ako sa froyo.. amf.. best cheap smartphone.. this is the so called iphone killer..
