HTC Philippines today launched three new handsets — the HTC One S powered by a SnapDragon S4, the HTC Desire V which is the first dual-SIM from the company, and the HTC Desire C which is one of the most affordable Android ICS handset in town.
Never did HTC introduced a handset this affordable. The nearest one we can remember is the HTC Wildfire. This one got ICS right out of the box.
HTC Desire C specs:
3.5″ LCD @ 320×480 pixels, 165ppi
Qualcomm Snapdragon 600MHz
512MB RAM
4GB internal storage
up to 32GB via microSD
HSDPA 7.2Mbps
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.0
Beats Audio
GPS w/ aGPS
5MP rear camera
1230mAh Li-Ion battery
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
We sat down with Mr. Richard Javier, the new Country Manager for HTC Phiippines, and discussed their positioning for the new Desire line-up.
According to him, the entire Desire series will be targeting the entry-level Android market. That means, you’ll be seeing most of the handsets offered below the price range of the more premium HTC One series.
The “Desire” used to represent the top of the line from HTC a couple of years ago. It was then replaced by the Sensation line but it would seem that only two product categories will remain — the One series and the Desire series.
The new handset are being shipped to retailers today and should be available in stores by tomorrow. And did we say the suggested retail price is just Php10,990?

Thanks!

I am really enjoying the theme/design of your web site.
Do you ever run into any internet browser compatibility
problems? A small number of my blog readers have complained
about my blog not working correctly in Explorer
but looks great in Firefox. Do you have any solutions to help fix
this problem?

Price vs Specs doesn’t really excite me…
WidgetCity selling the Xperia U at Php 10,950.00 is more exciting since it has a better screen, better camera with video call camera, and dual-core running at 1GHz.
Compare: http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=4759&idPhone2=4437#results
Only point against the U is that its memory is not expandable, you’re left with only 4GB of internal storage. Well, I guess you can’t have everything at this price point. tsk…
Richelle says:
hi! where can we buy it? is it already at SM Megamall?

Many are more interested on HTC’s Dual Sim Desire V. I wonder why abe can’t write an article about it.

Beats audio? Pure gimmick.

11k for a phone that only sports a 600mhz CPU? Too expensive..

They will release the One S with snapdragon S4 here? Sweet! I thought they were gonna release the S3 variant in the Philippines which is slower.
Guest says:
Sigurado ba na S4 ang variant dito sa Philippines? Pa confirm naman po. May nabasa kasi ako na select SE Asian countries S3 SoC ang irerelease

They have almost the same price as Sony Xperia U or the HTC One V
Glenn says:
How much is the Desire V?
showbiz says:
Wow it also has beats audio. Very tempting indeed.
Ed says:
Just my opinion:
The price is almost the same as the nokia lumia 610. But the 610 has better specs(higher pixel density, faster processor, etc.), adding the fact that the nokia lumia 610 is using a licensed Mobile OS while the HTC Desire C is using a FREE OS. I think the desire c should be price a bit lower…
Ed says:
the desire c doesn’t also have a corning gorilla glass unlike the lumia 610…
quick brown fox says:
Wait…wait!
Did I just read a dual-sim by HTC called the Desire V (not the One V)?
Just checked GSMArena and it indeed exists! WVGA and expandable, 3G capable! It’s no dual core but I’ll take it!
I’ll just wait for launch details on that one, please!

sa gsmarena ung processor niya 1 GHz Cortex-A5
dito kay sir abe 600mhz lang??
David says:
Bro, 600 lang sa gsmarena, pati sa htc site 60mhz lang din. Namalikmata ka siguro. http://www.htc.com/www/smartphones/htc-desire-c/#specs

David says:
I don’t think it’s the cheapest ICS phone out there. the SE Xperia 2011 models are still way cheaper than this one.
Soul Annihilator says:
What’s the SRP of HTC One S here in the Philippines? Any news about the specs of HTC Desire V?
chinitoguy says:
Hmmm… Its very tempting but I won’t buy it. I saw reviews from Pocket Now that its so slow because of the 600Mhz processor. I can get a better Android handset with Php 10,990 – Huawei Honor (with 1Ghz processor and 4 inch screen), Samsung Galaxy Ace with a better 800Mhz processor, Alcatel One Touch 985N with 800 Mhz processor and even in a lower price. Why bother buy the HTC Desire C?
