Since Smart and HTC started an exclusive handset deal last month, all Android phones coming that will be released in the Philippines will find its way first thru Smart’s corridors. The same is true with the upcoming HTC Evo 3D.
We saw one unit of the Evo 3D earlier from one of the Smart reps (it’s actually on display at the PLDT-Smart Jump Center in Mega Mall).
The specs are very similar to the HTC Sensation, only a little better in some areas and the body reminded me of the Desire HD.
HTC Evo 3D
4.3″ 3D LCD display @ 960×540 pixels
1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8660
Adreno 220
1GB internal storage
up to 32GB via microSD
1GB RAM
Dual 5MP autofocus camera with LED flash
720p 3D video recording
1.3MP front camera for video calls
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, WiFi hotspot
HSDPA 14.4Mbps; HSUPA 5.76Mbps
4G (optional)
TV-out (via MHL A/V link)
Bluetooth 3.0
GPS w/ aGPS
1730mAh Li-Ion
Android 2.3 Gingerbread
The Smart rep mentioned something about an LTE device although I doubt this is the one he’s referring to. My guess is that he was confusing it with the Evo 4G.
The dual 5MP camera at the back takes good pictures and there’s a latch you can switch between 2D images and 3D images as well as 3D videos.
We were asking for the price but obviously they can’t say anything yet. The only certain for now is that it will be offered thru Smart Postpaid Plans one it is released in the Philippines.

bombastic says:
just like what’s happening in the US and europe. Difference is they offer lower priced plans in those regions and the phones come free with the plan, compared here wherein you need to shell out a great amount of money for the phone to come free and you end up paying a 2 year plan which in the end is like paying for the phone thru installment.
it’s sad really.
