HTC U Ultra now official — SD821 CPU, Quad HD display in tow

HTC welcomes the new year by introducing its new U lineup of smartphones. Apart from the mid-range U Play that was also announced, the U Ultra has beefier specs with its Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB RAM, and a 5.7-inch Quad HD display with secondary screen.

HTC U Ultra specs:
5.7-inch Quad HD display @ 2560 x 1440 resolution
2-inch notifications screen
Snapdragon 821 CPU
4GB RAM
64GB storage
Expandable via microSD
12MP Ultrapixel rear camera with OIS and laser focus
16MP front camera
Fingerprint sensor
NFC
Dual-SIM
HTC Sense Companion
3000mAh battery
Android 7.0
White, blue, black, and pink colors

The company’s Sense Companion aims to be more than Google Assistant in such a way that it creates a symbiotic relationship with the user in order to manage your phone in a more personal way, as mentioned by the source. Meanwhile, the secondary display that’s located above its main screen is sort of similar with the LG V10 and V20 that it displays additional info and add shortcuts. Although, the company mentions that it will rely on AI software to make the contents more useful and personal.

The HTC U Ultra will be up for purchase in the UK next month with pricing and availability in other regions still undisclosed.
