Huawei Mate 10 Pro’s AI used to control self-driving car

In an experiment called the ‘RoadReader project’, Huawei tested to see if their very own Mate 10 Pro, which is powered by a Kirin 970 with embedded AI, can control a driver-less vehicle and avoid obstacles.

In a video released by Huawei Mobile UK, the Mate 10 Pro was shown to have the ability to recognize objects, which we know it can already do through the camera app.

The phone was hooked up to a self-driving car. It was able to detect that there was, in fact, a Labrador blocking the way, so the car was instructed to swerve away.

While a Mate 10 Pro is probably not road-worthy as the brains of a self-driving vehicle, it’s a cool proof of concept that the AI capability already in the phone can be used for more than just photography.

Huawei will be presenting the RoadReader project at MWC 2018 in Barcelona, so stay tuned for that.

Testing on animals again why not just try it on himself . Risking the dogs life to prove AI prowess …. if its so good why not do it on people right the dog might have ran to the side as well a car driving stright to it…. just saying..

Now that is the kind of AI i’m looking for.
