Aside from the Nova 5i Pro, we also encountered the most powerful Nova smartphone in the series, sporting a 6.39-inch screen, Kirin 980 flagship chipset, and quad-rear cameras, the Nova 5 Pro. Check out our first impressions below.
The Nova 5 Pro sports a different look compared to the Nova 5i Pro. Instead of a hole-punch display, this one has a 6.39-inch screen with a small notch at the top to house the 32MP front camera. Placed above it is the earpiece. The display also has a screen protector pre-installed.
Placed right up top are the secondary microphone and the hybrid SIM tray.
On the right are the volume and power/lock buttons.
At the bottom are the loudspeaker, USB Type-C port, and main microphone.
At the back are the quad-cameras consisting of a 48MP main shooter, 16MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth. The camera module is protruding, so the phone doesn’t lay flat on the surface. If you’re looking for the fingerprint scanner, it’s placed under the display.
In the hands, the Nova 5 Pro feels premium thanks to the metallic frame and glass back panel. The edges are rounded, making it easy to grip. It’s also thin at 7.33mm with a decent heft of 171g.
Huawei is offering the Nova 5 Pro in four attractive colors: Coral Orange, Forest Green, Midsummer Purple, and Bright Black. The back panel also produces a beautiful light effect that seems almost 3D.
