Here are the advantages of each smartphone:
Huawei P20
+ Higher pixel density
+ Slimmer
+ Lighter
+ More affordable
+ Flexible Clear Case included in the package
Huawei P20 Pro
+ Larger screen size
+ OLED display type
+ Larger RAM
+ Tri-lens setup
+ 40MP RGB sensor
+ IP 67 water and dust resistance
+ Larger battery capacity
+ Protective Case included in the package
Both smartphones have excellent display specs but the P20 Pro has a larger screen size with an OLED display but it sacrifices a bit of the pixel density making the P20’s display 20 pixels denser. In terms of viewing experience, users shouldn’t have any problems with any of these devices.
Just like the Mate 10 series, both the P20 and P20 Pro are also equipped with Huawei’s HiSilicon flagship processor, the Kirin 970 that has AI capabilities. Daily tasks such as navigations, browsing, streaming, and file transfers will just be a breeze for both the smartphones. The Mali-G72 MP12’s gaming potential is excellent as well since it can run any games even at the highest settings which are always a plus for gamers.
The camera aspect is where the P20 Pro stands out. It has triple Leica rear cameras, one of which is a 40MP RGB sensor. For us, this is a game changer in mobile photography. The P20, on the other hand, carries dual Leica rear cameras which is the usual standard in cameras these days. Both smartphones have a 24MP front camera with AI beautification so we can say that both of them are camera-centric smartphones.
The P20 Pro has a 4,000mAh battery while the P20 only has 3,400mAh. If we base it on paper alone, then the former will most probably last longer than the latter.
We’d also like to mention that the P20 only has IP53 water and dust resistance while the P20 Pro has IP67. It is also said that the former will have a flexible clear case included in the package while the latter will have a protective case.
The P20 is priced at €649 (~Php42,160.42) while the P20 Pro is at €899 (~Php58,400.96).
