Infinix has launched its latest series of smartphones and one of them is the Infinix HOT 20S Free Fire Edition, sporting a 6.78-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Helio G96 chipset, 5,000mAh battery, and custom Free Fire theme. Check out our hands-on of the device below.
The Infinix HOT 20S Free Fire Edition comes in a standard HOT 20S box but with a Free Fire Edition sleeve. The unit itself, though, doesn’t have any physical Free Fire customizations and comes in Sonic Black color.
One of the things we noticed about the HOT 20S is that it’s a tall device at 168.65 mm. It feels nice in the hands, though, because of the flat sides. It’s made of plastic but is solid.
The front houses the large 6.78-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution. Placed above it is the hole punch for the 8MP selfie camera, then right above it is the earpiece and loudspeaker.
On the left side, we have the card try for the dual nano SIM cards and a microSD card.
On the right are the volume buttons and the power/lock button which also doubles as a fingerprint scanner. We’re glad that Infinix positioned the buttons near the center of the frame so it’s easier to reach with one hand.
Take a look at the bottom and you can see the 3.5mm audio jack, microphone, UBS-C port, and loudspeaker. Yes, the HOT 20S has stereo speakers.
Flip it on its back and you will find the protruding cameras for the 50MP main and 2MP second and third cameras as well as the four LEDs for the flash. Infinix didn’t specify the type of lenses, though, but it could be the depth and macro cameras.
The back panel has a glossy finish which makes the device appear premium. However, it is a fingerprint and smudge magnet and will urge you to wipe it every now and then.
Given its size and battery capacity, the HOT 20S is a hefty device at 202 g. It’s not exactly a bad thing, though, as it gives a premium feel. Unless you drop it on your face while mindlessly browsing yourself to sleep at night. You’ll definitely feel that.
Powering the Infinix HOT 20S is a MediaTek Helio G96 chipset with an octa-core CPU, a Mali-G57 GPU, 8GB of RAM with Extended RAM feature for up to 13GB, 128GB of storage, and a 5,000mAh battery.
When it comes to the OS, it runs on XOS 12 based on Android 12. This is where most of the Free Fire customizations come in. It has four Free Fire wallpapers and comes with custom icons. If you’re a fan of Free Fire, you’ll enjoy this bit. If you’re not, I think you’ll appreciate the gaming vibe it provides.
The Infinix HOT 20S has an SRP of PHP 8,499. It will be available via Lazada, Shopee, and TikTok shop. You can also get it for PHP 7,849 exclusively on Lazada on November 28, and PHP 7,999 in a limited-time Flash Sale on Lazada, Shopee, TikTok Shop starting December 1.

I hope some smartphone brand will collaborate with NBA. The cloudfone did it before but I was not satisfied with it.
