Infinix is set to launch in the Philippines one of its newest smartphones in the country, the Infinix Zero 5G. It’s got a large 6.78-inch IPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Dimensity 900 5G chipset, triple-rear cameras, and a nice design. Read our initial thoughts about the device below.
One of the first things you’ll notice about the Infinix ZERO 5G is its size. It’s a pretty tall device at 168.7mm which can be attributed to its large 6.78-inch IPS screen. That screen has a Full HD+ resolution which is equal to 388ppi.
Those looking for a smooth visual experience will like the 120Hz refresh rate. Placed above the screen is the hole punch for the 16MP selfie cameras. Then above it, in the bezel, is the earpiece.
Placed on the left side of the frame is the card tray for two nano-sized SIM cards and a dedicated slot for a microSD card.
On the right are the plastic volume buttons and power/lock button that also works as a fingerprint scanner. The buttons are easy to reach since they’re placed near the middle of the frame.
Down at the bottom are the 3.5mm audio jack, main microphone, USB-C port, and loudspeaker.
Flip it on its back and you will see the triple-rear cameras consisting of the 48MP main, 13MP telephoto, and 2MP depth for bokeh effects. Also found here are two LED flashes.
You’ll also notice that the camera module’s edges curves seamlessly to the rest of the back panel, similar to the OPPO Find X5 Pro. Infinix calls this the unicurve design and features a glossy finish. The body is mostly plastic but feels solid. It also helps in keeping things light considering its size and the large battery. Infinix was able to keep it below 200g.
Powering the Infinix ZERO 5G is a MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G with an octa-core CPU clocked at up to 2.4GHz, Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, 8GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 128GB UFS 3.1. Software-wise, it’s running on XOS 10 based on Android 11 and has a large 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. We’re yet to benchmark but Infinix says that it can reach an AnTuTu score of 486K, we’ll know more about that in our full review.
The Infinix ZERO 5G will be available in the Philippines later this month in Horizon Blue and Skylight Orange. Stay tuned for the pricing.
