Im from Lipa City, Batangas Philippines and i bought this phone (S890) last May.at first it was good but then i notice yellow tint at the bottom of the screen. and then the mic stopped working but when on speaker mode its absolutely fine! A the salesclerk where i bought my phone (OWTEL SHOP) told me to go to Manila so i can have my phone fixed! that is very inconvenient and hassle for me! i regret buying this phone! waste of money!

My cousin wants this samsung gs3 of mine. D ko nmn pwedeng ibigay to sa kanya. Is lenovo s890 a good android phone as an alternative. I mean is it an eye catching phone?
ronz balaoeg says:
Guys help nsman: yung brightness ng s890 ko keeps adjusting itself to the dimmest setting after mag-unlock ako ng screen and launching any app…nakaka-annoy na. di ko alam kung dahil sa battery saver setting o factory defect…anybody na me ganito ring problem?help please….
ronz balaoeg says:
Well I have been able to solve the problem myself immediately after posting my complaint, I continued tinkering with my unit and finally found the culprit to be the Easy Battery Saver app which kept adjusting my screen brightness to the dimmest setting…so I uninstalled it and my problem with brightness has been solved…turns out the said app is not compatible with the S890 unlike in my old A60…at least something I can share with the other s890 users…

As an IBM employee, I got this phone for only 11k.. and is like awesome! kala ko nga before WALEY lang because of the price pero hinde pala.. :)
Justin says:
Just bought this phone.
2 words. Fucking awesome.
Arvin Roque says:
Lenovo S890 is great @ its price… I had Lenovo Android phone once (A60) before i grabbed GNex. Ok naman performance nya. So i guess S890 is much better. Almost same specs sya ni Samsung Galaxy Grand. Di ko lang sure if under IBM pa din ang lenovo…
Jun says:
I was told by an officemate that this phone is now on sale at SM Pampanga Cyberzone for only Php10,000 !!!
What a great bargain, if he’s not mistaken! I saw this last Sunday and I was impressed enough with its performance with the very little time I had testing it. It’s a BETTER, cost effective, alternative to Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos!
Dexter says:
I just got my S890 two days ago and so far I’m very satisfied with it. It’s responsive, nice screen, long lasting battery and also Dual SIM so no need for me to carry 2 phones. It is my first time to shift to Android and have a 5 inch “phablet” as I had an iPhone 4S before this…medyo mahirap pala ibulsa…hehe
I got mine at their main distributor (cmkcellphones.com)at P12,800.

naka galaxy s3 ako pero binigay ko sa kapatid ko na pa punta sa UK so kailangan ko humanap ng kapalit, pinagpilian ko itong lenovo s890 at samsung g-grand since dual sim android ang hanap ko, hindi nagkakalayo sa specs almost the same sa keypad mas accurate ang typing ko sa samsung, pero nagustuhan ko sa lenovo ung pwede mo ma-customize yung mga icons at interface without downloading different launchers sa play store, in terms of materials both are metallic plastic. para sa akin lenovo s890 is a great buy. happy ako sa performance kahit hindi na samsung ang phone ko.
reign says:
guys p770 o s890? d ako makapili tlaga eh
Rei_BuGz says:
guys question lang, is the Lenovo S890 scratch proof? how long is the battery life compare to 770?
Eiror Yeah says:
Yung Lenovo P700 ko, nalaglag sya sa kamay ko at gumulong ng 3 beses, pero buhay parin at tumatakbo parin si Karma Lee kasi naglalaro ako ng Temple Run 2 e. Haha

Hi sir yuga, im planning to upgrade my myphone a919, how about doing a head to head to head match up among LG Optimus L9, Samsung Galaxy Grand and this Lenovo S890, for the screen i think L9 is only 4.7in but the three of them have dual cores and 1 gig ram. .Thanks!
Cyril says:
Im not “Sir Yuga” But just for a comparison base of specs of the 3, LG L9 has 4.7″ 234 PPI which is better than the S890, But of course, its 4.7″ only. So overall, S890 has better specs.
Grand sucks. Specially in screen. You only buy the brand name. Not really the phone.
Marlotech says:
Paano naman ang durability? Baka kagaya ng lumia up to 4 ft basag na…price is great.. wow
JecJec29 says:

S890 was released in the market last November in china.
I am wondering what kind of “s890” was announced during CES.
Specs are the same however the one they sell here is running ICS.
Price is 1899 RMB with some freebies.

Anti_Kimchi says:
Thank you Smokescreen.. yes, I did in fact have time to check it out.. you’re correct on both accounts.
Too bad kobe byrant is the endorser for Lenovo. I would hate to think the others would think I bought a Lenovo because of kobe.
Anti_kimchi says:
Where is Lenovo made, china? Or to clarify, it’s a Chinese company or what?
@smokescreen: the 770 runs 4.1?
Thanks
Smokescreen says:
Lenovo is indeed a chinese company. And yes 770 runs on 4.1.
cara says:
LG L9 is better than this…
13,900php
better quality, better design and better performance…
Vaughn says:
This proves to be a very good matchup, however the Lenovo P770 seems to be a better choice.

Ehyeh says:
how do you know it has better quality and performance? have you held BOTH of these phones?
also Lenovo S890 is dual-sim, LG’s L9 isn’t. so comparing those two is a little off as they might cater to different markets
Alvin says:
not bad actually
Smokescreen says:
I find the P770 the better buy. Though smaller at 4.5inches, it has a larger capacity battery at 3500mah. And it’s cheaper by approximately a grand. It can also act as a power bank capable of charging other devices via USB OTG
chaelos says:
Yes p770 is a good buy considering the android version, processor speed and of course the battery. But I was told that the user available memory for apps is only 600mb, is this true? Thanks
wow says:
napawow ako ah! almost same specs with galaxy grand but much cheaper. pwede!
Jejo says:
ok na ok siya… kaso nung nagipit ako need ko isanla hindi pa rin tinatanggap ang Lenovo brand :-(
anOnymous says:
is this better than samSung Galaxy Grand 9082
no protective case for Samsung GG
Cyril says:
Spec-wise, Lenovo S890 has the better specs. Considering the screen resolution of 480 x 800 of Grand VS 540 X 960 of S890, and the 187 PPI of Grand VS 220 PPI of S890. Dimensions are a bit different. S890 is thinner for .3 inches. And the 2100 mAh of Grand VS 2250 mAh of S890. So, you judge.
CF_ says:
That battery!
