LG has officially introduced the G8 ThinQ and G8S ThinQ, its newest flagship smartphones at the MWC in Barcelona.
The new flagship touts to bear touch-less controls through Air Motion, which is something one can use when their fingers are dirty or can’t reach the screen enough. There’s also a new security feature called hand ID where the phone reads your palm structure and unlocks the phone. The said feature is made possible by the company’s Z-camera at the front, which is a modified TOF sensor that can catch infrared rays. It’s meant to be more secure than a fingerprint sensor, but we’d have to test that out.
Moreover, the G8 ThinQ series boasts of excellent multimedia with an array of features. It’s the first G-series phone to sport an OLED display, Crystal sound made possible by producing sounds off the display, and Hi-Fi Quad DAC.
The G8S, on the other hand, trades off the QHD display at the G8 with more rear cameras akin to its V series of phones. The G8 ThinQ, on the other hand, can be marketed in different markets as a dual rear camera or triple rear camera device.
