LG Optimus 2X launched, priced!

LG Philippines today launched the LG Optimus 2X, it’s flagship Android smartphone that comes with a Tegra 2 processor — the first dual-core Android handset in the market.

Together with the Optimus 2X, LG is also launching the Optimus Black (as a more affordable, mid-range handset).

LG Optimus 2X (LG P990) specs:
4.0″ display @ 480×800 pixels
ARM Cortex A9 1.0GHz dual-core processor (Tegra 2)
up to 32GB via microSD
3G/HSDPA
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
8MP autofocus camera w/ LED Flash
1.3MP secondary front-facing camera
GPS w/ aGPS support
HDMI port
1500mAh Li-Ion battery
Android 2.2 Froyo

LG reps tell me that the estimated price for this phone, when it comes out in LG Concept stores next week, is about Php27,990.

  5. efraim says:

  6. Captain William says:

im rooting for this baby’s internal life usage and battery life.. since dual core sya!! ang alam mo mabili mag init yung mga ganyan.. cutting the usage and life ng phone..

    since detachable naman yung
battery mas angat 2 sa IPHONE..

    pero heck!!..

if ur a gadget lover why think thrice..
im planning to buy one pag formally narelease na xa sa market :))

  7. Rodel says:

fyi, don’t buy this.. got one just few days ago.. parati mag-hung pag your doing multi-tasking.. usually, nagiging black yung screen for a couple of seconds.. then sometimes, bagal ng response when you flick the phone..

or it’s just me – how i use it..

  8. Kaloy says:

sayang, inantay ko na lang sana ito. di ko naman alam na ganito kabilis lalabas at the same time ganun kababa ang presyo. will enjoy my one week old Galaxy Tab. since Jan2011 naka 4 na palit na ako. stop na muna sa Tab

  9. adam says:

competitive na yung price nya pero mas ok if wait muna ng price ng SGS 2.

    • poche says:

32-36k price nian sgs2 dito at worse of all e globe locked.

    • questionmark says:

e2 nabasa ko about sgs II sa korea..

      (from gsmarena)
According to the popular Korean website Danawa.com the handset (samsung galaxy s II) retails for 455,000 Korean wons sim-free, which equals €290 or $425.

  10. Baroness says:

ang pogi ng 2X! si Art Samaniego happy na happy siya sa 2X niya. bumili pa daw siya sa Hong Kong!

  11. Richard Benedict says:

any update to when will Motorola Atrix will launch here?

  12. John says:

competitive price compared to Nexus S.

  13. John says:

competitive price compared to Nexus S

  14. Wakocoke says:

and it makes my Desire a low-end phone!

  15. chibabs says:

    • arvin says:

yap! dalawa ang up coming galaxy, the galaxy S2 and GSplus. same battery efficient because of its amoled plus screen. thanks to samsung elec.

  18. faith @ahead says:

can you upgrade it to gingerbread?

    • questionmark says:

      upgradeable sya.. soon

  19. technobaboy says:

considering it’s dual core and a 4-incher, mukhang pwede na ang price

  20. name says:

this is no where near SGS2, but it’s price is really appealing, and of course the SGS2 will come with a BIGGER pricetag. but i’d rather go HTC when it comes to Android, but why don’t HTC make a better battery life and screen? WHY?!?! Anyway, LG should really prove their self, they’ve been out of the limelight for so long now, they can’t afford to loose another year. Goodluck LG and thanks for making the landing of the first dual-core smartphone here in RP earlier than expected :)

  21. Lan_7inches says:

    DUAL CORE = DUAL PRICE!!!

wait nyo na lng SGS2! :D

  22. NeoJohan says:

Wait ko na lang Galaxy Tab II
    neojohan.com

  23. Carlo Angelo says:

Optimus Black (as a more affordable, mid-range handset).

—–Since when did the Optimus black become a mid-range handset? =))

-same screen (type and resolution) as the 2x
    -single-core 1ghz vs Tegra2 (2x)
    -same RAM (512MB)
    -2GB vs 8BG internal memory
    -5MP AF w/ LED vs 8MP AF w/ LED

    -That isn’t exactly a mid-range phone. =)

    • lawrence27 says:

It is already a mid-range phone considered that it has a single core processor. My HTC desire hd was considered a high-end phone when I bought it last january but now it is just considered a Mid-range because of the dual-core phones that are coming out lately, most specially the 1.2ghz dual core ones.

    • Carlo Angelo says:

And the to-be-released HTC Wildfire S has been demoted to a low-end phone? And the current LG Optimus One and HTC wildfire to what? – dumbphones/featurephones? :)

IMO, the Optimus Black is still within the high-end spectrum, price-wise, I think it’ll be playing around the 19K-22K price point. But, that’s just me. =) I’m not speaking in behalf of everyone. =)

    • poche says:

company ang nagddictate kung pang anong range ba yun particular model nila. kahit na ba quad core na tegra yan pag sinabi nilang midrange model yan e midrange yan.

o ayan 20k lang daw ang optimus black accdg to lgph pang midrange nga talaga yun presyo.

  24. kill3rfill3r says:

i still have to wait for the price Samsung Galaxy S2.

  25. Jon says:

Nice specs. Doesn’t look appealing though. Agh. The interface looks ugly as well. Sana nag stock Froyo na lang.

Speaking of, a dual-core phone only sporting Froyo? Sayang, sana Gingerbread na lang.

    • tan says:

it says upgradable to 2.3 kaya walng sayang dun

  26. basilio says:

waiting for SRP of Samsung Galaxy II and see which one is worth the money

  27. daniel says:

student pa lang ako :( sayang

  28. chavez joselyn says:

Do you have outlet in cagayan de oro city..please let me know so ican buy one lg optimus 2x
