We were at LG’s Optimus Series 2 launch at the MOA atrium where they also had a one hour sale, slashing Php2k off on the newly announced phones. We had a quick hands-on with the devices, and here’s what we have of them.
Before anything else, we want to indicate that while the L Series II single SIM variants came with physical home buttons and Smart LED notification lights, the dual SIM variants did not> Instead, they had a straight set of capacitive soft buttons. Apart from that, there isn’t much a difference between the single and dual-SIM variants.
Let’s start with the LG Optimus L3 II. This phone is fits perfectly in your hand as it is the smallest in the pack. It has a 3.2-inch display which is an IPS panel, and it is quite thick though – but we don’t really see it as a problem.
Volume rocker on the left, power button & 3.5mm audio jack on top, micro USB on the bottom and the rest is history. We have to hand it to LG; this device does feel sleek and classy despite its affordable price tag of Php4,990USD 85INR 7,209EUR 81CNY 619. For an extra Php500USD 9INR 722EUR 8CNY 62, you can get the dual SIM version.
LG Optimus L3-II E430 specs:
3.2-inch QVGA IPS LCD display @ 240×320 pixels, 125ppi

Adreno 200
512 MB RAM
4GB (1.6GB user available)
microSD up to 32 GB
3.15 MP rear camera
HSDPA, 7.2 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi hotspot
Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP
GPS with A-GPS support
Li-Po 1540mAh battery
Android 4.1.2 Jellybean
102.6 x 61.1 x 11.9 mm

The LG Optimus L5 II seems to be the most abundant phone in the event as we weren’t able to get a hands-on of the other devices without attachments – only with the Optimus L5 II.
At first glance, it seemed like a perfect balance between the L3 II & the L7 II. The 4-inch display felt perfect in the hand and it felt solid as well, just like its other L-brothers. It’s fairly thin all around, and like we’ve said – it looks sleek and premium. Not to mention, the display looks great too.
It goes around for Php5,990USD 102INR 8,653EUR 97CNY 743 and Php6,590USD 112INR 9,520EUR 107CNY 818 for the dual SIM variant.
LG Optimus L5-II E460 specs:

Li-Ion 1700mAh battery
Android 4.1.2 Jellybean
117.5 x 62.2 x 9.2 mm

Last but not least, here’s the Optimus L7 II. It’s obviously the best in hardware of the bunch, and it didn’t disappoint as it was fast and responsive.
The build of the LG Optimus L7 II was slightly less premium than the others though, or maybe it’s just because of the size or the color choice.
The L7 II will retail for Php9,990USD 170INR 14,432EUR 162CNY 1,240 which still fits within the Php10k mark. For a slightly higher price of Php10,590USD 180INR 15,298EUR 172CNY 1,314, you can get the dual-SIM variant, and that is pretty much the ceiling for the price of the affordable Optimus L Series II from LG.
LG Optimus L7 II P710 specs:
4.3-inch WVGA IPS LCD display @ 480×800 pixels, 217ppi
Qualcomm MSM8225 Snapdragon 1.0GHz dual-core

If we may say, things look pretty exciting as the people almost broke out of control because of the one hour sale (image above). It seems like people are excited for this phone. We’re hoping to get a closer look at these new phones sometime soon, so stay tuned.

Only the ram keeps me from wanting one. Why cant they make them with 1 gb ram?
Hanjosopot says:
Because you don’t fckng need a lot of RAM to get a decent performance of your phone. A PS3 have a 512mb RAM to play high end games. What it needs is a decent processor!
von says:
When would they be releasing the Optimus G Pro?!!!!
Justin says:
Answer: When the Optimus G Pro becomes obsolete to the rest of the world.
LG fanatic says:
Good evening … We were there in SM M.O.A. yesterday. From the time that they are assembling the platform in the morning, until the event starts we never left the area, we have spent the last whole day prior without sleep so we wouldn’t missed the chance to buy our target LG phones.
Positive: We like to commend the LG Girls who assisted almost everyone in the Experience Booth; they are so accommodating and very informative.
Also the LG Cashiers who we saw really tried their best to cope up with the huge angry crowd.
Negative: Though it’s really hard to swallow how the whole starting the countdown time of purchasing has been executed. The Organizers in that part really do sucks. We were there; initially you need to have a number for them to let you purchase LG phones, which you can get from a staff with a sign “Want 2,000php discount? Follow me”.
Instead of telling the hungry crowd to form a line, a man from their side mocked us with a single number pass, of course all the people who are there will going to tackle the chance to get that single pass, so right there and there the mob starts to get irritated, we even saw them choosing some people in the crowd to go in first (so unfair).
The time is ticking and the crowd were getting so impatient, we started to shout things we thought was happening, cause while everyone was getting agitated we saw few cameras shooting a video at us, it make us think that we are just being used for their promotions.
Then after great precious minutes, they started to guide the crowd left and right without clear instructions, it is like they are toying with us like we were kids back there. At the last 16mins. of the countdown timer, that is only when they gave the proper instruction to finally form a line.
All in all it was a big part disappointment and some part Great. The event could have been much better if they did organized and handled it in a much more proper way (Hello!!! They have tons of men and men alike around, and all of them are just busy guarding and some doing nothing but to smile while the crowd was furious on what was happening.)
At the end we manage purchased L7II and L3II both single, though we were very happy and really excited about our new LG phones, we kind felt lonely. That the event will reflect on the image of the company itself, it really could have been better.
We love LG from then till now, hoping in the up-coming events in the future, it will be much organize and proper for the consumers to enjoy and remember not the tiring lines, the puzzling directions, or the mocking staffs. But the greatness of the Product, the Company and its family, the fun, and the enjoyment of having experienced the true greatness of LG… We are still a fan, please make it up to us all next time hehehe… God bless and more power LG Smart Phones…

Guys,
Plano ko bumili nang L5 II next week.
Tanong ko lang, sa specs nyang 1ghz at 512mb RAM; kaya nya bang mag play ng 720p video smoothly sa ganung specs?
LG #3 in Smartphone says:
kung games opo, pero kung video recording hindi po siya nakakapag record ng 720p.
kung watch ka hd video sa L5-II pwede po.
its a very good phone for its price.PANALO ANG DISPLAY kumpara sa mga katapat niya.
thanx.

@LG New Fantastic cp
fuck your LG… better than SGS2 camera? 720p? the SGS2 can record 1080p. It also has the Gorilla Glass which your LG doesn’t have… fuck that

CAMERAS/video recording;
“8mp camera is very impressive better than my SAMSUNG GALAXY S2‘s 8mp cam.”
– ACCURATE NORMAL COLOR / SHARP and vivid(LIFE-LIKE)
THAT IS MY ANSWER FOR YOUR FIRST QUESTION THAT’S BASED ON MY EXPERIENCED I HAVE THE TWO PHONES.(S2 & L7-II) both are using 8mp REAR CAM.
READ THIS AGAIN……….
“720X480” VIDEO RECORDING is the BEST for its class ALMOST AS 720 HD on SOME PHONE available on the market.
YOU MUST UNDERSTAND THE FOLLOWING;
1) I DIDN’T say L7 II can record 720P!
F.Y.I.
720P IS DIFFERENT FROM “720X480″also known as (FWVGA)
2) I DIDN’T say L7 II is better than S2’s 1080P video recording…
