LG V30 to maximize 18:9 experience with UX 6.0+

LG’s upcoming V30 will make use of the new UX 6.0+, the latest version of their proprietary Android top layer. The new version is designed to maximize the multimedia capabilities of the smartphone, namely its 18:9 OLED FullVision display and its advanced dual lens camera that will feature an aperture of f/1.6.

For the device’s camera mode, users will be able to use Graphy, an app where you can browse through a collection of photos taken by professional photographers, then apply the metadata from a selected photograph (white balance, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, etc) to photos taken by your V30. You will also be able to easily create GIFs and even edit videos using the proprietary Quick Video Editor app.

The V30 will ditch the V20’s Second Screen in favor of utilizing its OLED display’s entire 18:9 aspect ratio, by implementing a Floating Bar. It is a semi-transparent, shows quick access so your favorite functions, and can be toggled on and off. The Always-on Display gets added customization features as well, as you will now be able to display Quick Tools, the music player, or even a photo of your choice.

Aside from these, security features also get a bump up in functionality, as the V30 will now have more advanced facial and voice recognition capabilities to unlock the phone. The voice recognition uses Qualcomm’s Aqstic voice UI technology to constantly listen for your voice and keywords, while using very little battery power.
