Didn’t know there was such a thing as the CES Innovation Awards and turns out the LG Dare took the prize home in the wireless handset category.
We won’t be seeing any LG VX9700 Dare here in the Philippines since it’s locked with Verizon (around June of this year) and runs on a CDMA network.
The LG Dare is a 3″ (400×240 pixel) touchscreen phone with a 3.2MP auto-focus camera featuring a Schneider-Kreuznach lens. It’s 3G capability is for EV-DO and Bluetooth with A2DP.
That’s pretty much all that it has, which brings me to wonder how it won this award despite the plethora of other contenders.
While Samsung also got a number of honorees (including the Samsung Instinct), Nokia and Sony Ericsson are conspicuously absent on the list. Turns out the judging committee only considered carrier-exclusive mobile phones which leaves a lot of units out of the list.
Next year’s Consumer Electronics Show will be on January 8 to 11, 2009.

Not just in the wireless technology that LG is ever dependable. I found their LG LCD monitor technology way superior than the Samsung model simply because I am using one from each model in my 2 PCs at home and I like the controls and picture quality of LG more than my Samsung. Just an opinion though.

Decent looking LG Phone! I would love to own this one but I’ve got to see it first personality so that I can tinker it. ;)
