Motorola has announced today the Moto Z2 Force. The successor to last year’s Moto Z Force, this flagship smartphone currently stands at the top of Motorola’s 2017 line-up. Specs wise, it sports a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. International models though, will get 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. It runs on Android Nougat 7.1.1, and we can expect it to be nearly stock Android with very few proprietary Motorola apps.
It has a sleeker design thanks to being much thinner than last year’s iteration, though at the cost of battery life. The decrease is quite dramatic, as the Z2 Force’s battery is a mere 2,730mAh, compared to last year’s 3,500mAh. There is also no headphone jack, also likely a result of slimming down.
The Z2 Force’s display comes complete with Motorola’s ShatterShield, which they guarantee will not shatter. The rear cameras are another interesting change. Instead of a single 21 MP rear camera, we get dual cameras, with a catch. They are both 12 MP, have an aperture of f/2.0, phase detection, and laser autofocus, but one of them shoots native monochrome.
The phone is compatible with all existing MotoMods. the company’s line of modular accessories. Full retail price in the US is $730PHP 42,840INR 61,867EUR 695CNY 5,313 (~ Php37k).
