Motorola Droid RAZR is new thinnest smartphone

Before the Samsung Galaxy Nexus was unveiled, Motorola took the spotlight earlier by introducing the Motorola Droid RAZR, probably the thinnest smartphone in the world at 7.1mm.

Motorola Droid RAZR specs:
4.3″ Super AMOLED Advanced screen @ 960×540 (256 ppi)
TI OMAP 4460 1.2GHz dual-core processor
PowerVR SGX540
1GB RAM
16GB internal storage
up to 32GB via microSD
HSPA+ 21Mbps, HSUPA 5.76Mbps
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.0
8MP autofocus camera w/ LED flash
1.3MP front-facing camera
1080p video recording at 30fps
1800mAh Li-Ion battery
Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread

The 7.1mm frame beats the 8.49mm of the Galaxy S2. The design looks pretty sweet and comes with a Kevlar fibre at the back. At the moment, it’s only available via Verizon under a plan at $299.99 and we don’t know when it be reach the Philippines.

  5. satte_saitama says:

Very nice but it’s gonna be useless in the Philippines, because Verizon phones are CDMA which means no SIM card.

    • Migs says:

Motorola’s also releasing an international GSM-enabled version simply called RAZR.

  6. Digest says:

May ganyan ka ngang cellphone wala namang load. lol

As long as I can call and text thats enough for me.

    • bokoi says:

Luma na yang linya mo. wait, baka nga oldies ka na kaya yan pa rin yung pagiisip mo…

I believed to the integrity of Motorola, it was my first phone when Globe prepaid first exist in October 1998.

  9. PrinceTey says:

It will be upgradable to ICS. May distributor ang Motorola here I think it’s MemoExpress.

  10. Russel says:

I wonder what the image/video quality of the pictures/movies from this device will be. Waiting game ulit.

  11. Lan_7inches says:

I think I found my Christmas gift for myself! I hope it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg…but then again technology is expensive.

@irv: Yes, moto still sells phones here in PH even if they pulled their factory of the country years ago. :)

  14. irv says:

Is moto selling fones in PH? Or does one need to go abroad to get one?

  15. orange senorita says:

  16. arbee says:

Ha! You know Philippines, probably it will cost very expensive here :P

  18. Hideki says:

matatagalan pa yan sa pinas at mas mamahal malamang. XD sino kaya ang kukuha nyan. baka si Globe. XD

  19. Neil says:

Magkano kaya yan dito sa Pinas? Sana di sumobra ng 15k… Masyado nang mahal if ganun..but kevlar case.. and slim. and Motorola pa..

    • Arvee says:

$299 is the cash-out price for this phone but you have to be subscribed to a plan not lower than $60/month, locked-in for 2 years. The unlocked price in the US would probably be around 600$

You’re probably thinking that $299 is the unlocked price, so there’s the clarification.

    • daniel says:

ur one funny guy huh! hahaha double ur 15k… 30k is still cheap for that lol :)

    • Migs says:

P15k for a dual-core Android smartphone? Cherry Mobile or major promos lang ang maaasahan mo nyan.

  20. Neil says:

This is really sexy.. I wonder how much it will be here in the philippines.

  21. keemo says:

OS should’ve been ice cream sandwich, just like the nexus

    • Jolina Magdangal says:

Early Jan 2012 pa ang upgrade ng RAZR to ICS.

    • PrinceTey says:

      It’s upgradable to ICS.

  22. Jolina Magdangal says:

This is so kewl. Now I can’t decide which smartphone to buy. >_<

  23. nameless says:

Yeah! Motorola Strategy! They are taking the pictures once again just like the same old RAZR! nice one!

  24. jonaflormicfren says:

It got a little better than the previous.

  25. Eason says:

7.1mm at its THINNEST point, but how about the thickness in the bulky camera part?

  26. Oni says:

Kevlar? ano ito bullet proof? :p

  27. 2toyzki says:

siri think the screen is just AMOLED not Super AMOLED.

    • 2toyzki says:
