Motorola XT720 Motoroi: Keyboard-less Droid

An upcoming Motorola Android smartphone (called the Motorola XT720 Motoroi) is set to be launched by end of this quarter that looks like and got the same specs as the Milestone.

motorola

The Motoroi packs a 3.7″ screen @ 480×854 pixels, UMTS, GPS WiFi and 8GB memory expandable with a microSD card. The device features an 8MP camera with Xenon flash that can record 720p video. Runs Android OS 2.0 too.

It’s currently available in South Korea but may arrive in the US by March. Works on a CDMA network at the moment and no GSM version yet. Like the Droid, I’m not expecting this one to be released locally but you should be able to get it in one of them Hong Kong electronics shop.

  1. It seems like this phone has scoliosis. Hehe, sorry.

  2. Looks nice…but no GSM?

  3. Moto’s on fire right now!

Droid OS is the current fad for cellphones.

  4. can the droid record in 720p? I don’t recall having the droid that capability?

Anyway if it can record in 720p. It means that it has more processing power than the droid.

  5. if the trend will continue, Droid sprouted the milestone, so motoroi could have a GSM counterpart..

  6. I’m really hoping Motorola comes back here. It seems they are coming out and planning to release great phones.

  7. 720p video recording, xenon flash cool features but why not AMOLED screen & at least 16GB internal memory. Perhaps, 8GB not enough since Android push apps to download only on internal memory not on memory card.

  8. I can’t wait for this, I was looking to get the Nexus but it’s way to much hassle to get that thing. So I’m praying and searching that this phone comes out March 10th. I was also looking the the cliq xt, but I think I want this one :D

  9. I’m selling mine. Just bought it a month ago, but I really need the cash right now. Contact me at 0918.2699181, it’s in excellent condition. Barely used.

  10. Oops. Sorry, I thought this was the Motorola Droid / Milestone. That’s the one I have.

  11. @Chel

    For how much?

  12. available na po ito locally with 1 year warranty for
    ONLY 15.5K :-)

  13. i have this phone already its nice but when i comes to user interface its just same with milestone, it become to hot to handle if your using 3g for 30 mins according to my app cpu+temp widget the temp is going up 45 degrees Celsius… wifi not stable too and i’m planning to shift to nexus s next year due to those problems… the cpu is great after the major update happened, 550mhz going to 720mhz so moto just remove their limitation on that phone nice to hear.. but the hd video rec is still a big problem, laggy for me. cam mediocre even though they say it’s 8megs.. grrr.. i just spend 23k for this phone and yet i’m not satisfied with its performance. i hope froyo will be available for this phone next year but as i search for details for the update, still this phone will stuck on eclair.. and the internal memory is very small 150mb not good for a high end phone, battery is also a problem, for the full charge 5 hrs only shocks :O using 3g network, playing games ex. raging thunder etc… blah blah blah.. good for gaming and playing ur fav video using apps on the android market (vplayer)since this phone got a video accelerator but still bad i have a bad experience with this phone.. guys i dont say all the negatives in this phone its just my personal experience with it, but if your just a standard user of a phone and dont even care on the phones capability maybe this phone suits you.. but for me nahh never mind i’ll just stick with my old n96 and probably shift to another unit next year wating for nexus s or the new experia play :-) by the way on the top you say it’s available here only for 15.5k… :o i just order this phone from a friend on mine last sept. nice price since its close to experia x10 price not the small cute one hahahha:)

  14. FYI motorola xt720 works on GSM and is already available in the US. Cincinnatibell wireless offers this phone, check http://cincinnatibell.com/consumer/wireless/phones_and_devices/?id=motorola_milestone
