The second Netphone from Smart has finally arrived and it went straight to the Smart Online Store. Following the success of the Netphone 701, the Netphone 501 is beinf offered free at Smart Plan 349 or straight on prepaid at Php3,900.
Back in March, we wrote a story that the next Smart Netphone could be a Huawei handset and predicted it will be sold under Php4,000.
Well, it looks like our prediction hit a bull’s eye with the Netphone 501.
The handset was announced and released by Smart around last week of May and we only noticed it when we came back from Computex that it’s already being sold in the Smart Online Store.
The Netphone 501 uses what could be a Huawei U8180 handset which was originally announced in May 2011.

Just got the netphone 501 349 plan last friday… its a company issued phone… they did not inform us of the coverage of the plan… i thought it has an unlimited call, but we verified to smart that its on unlimited text only… is it possible to cancel the account or can be transferred to another which has unlimited call regardless of the plan 349? or possible to cut the line and change to another plan?
Pinoy Android says:

Old tech is old. Still, entry-level. But Galaxy Ys are now near that price point.
