Local smartphone player Cherry Mobile will be releasing a new set of Flares in the next months, if we’re going to base it on the leaked ROM files round about the cyberspace.
First up, the brand may be expanding its A series with the upcoming launch of the Flare A1. We’re inclined to think that this will also bear LTE right out of the box considering the A3 is the first to sport 700MHz LTE. It similarly sports a 1GHZ Mediatek MT6735M chip and Android Marshmallow right out of the box.
We also have upcoming Flare J-series devices: A Flare J5 sporting a 1.3GHz Mediatek MT6580 chip, and a Flare J7 sporting a newer 1.3GHz MediaTek 6737M chip. Like the A1, these two Flare J phones runs on Android Marshmallow.
Lastly, the local brand is also set to launch its new S5 flagship along with a mini version, as traditions go. While we don’t have any information for the flagship Flare, the Flare S5 Mini will run on a Spreadtrum SC7731G with a 1.3GHz clock speed. We could very well see this phone get priced below Php3K.
While we have yet to see these new devices in the upcoming months, the ROMs listed on the website have been accurate so far as it had leaked a few details off the A3 a few weeks back.
If these bear truth, we could see a showdown of local brands with new releases starting in a few weeks. What hardware specification would you want to see from Cherry Mobile?

cherry mobile’s naming scheme should no longer ‘follow/imitate/copy’ samsung.
the sub-brand ‘flare series’ is a nice move by cherry mobile but countered by its not so glamorous copying of competitors sub-brands (J, A, max, etc)
for max battery, cherry mobile can consider ‘volta’ (ai ai de las alas ;) )
for its premium series, it can continue with M2, etc.
for its budget series, it can use ‘light’…
and i am hoping that it will continue to offer affordable and competitively priced android one (G2 for third gen ?)…

Hello Pal… I need some help:
I bought a MAIA Pad Plus for my niece just this Friday. and when I tried to check for update using the built-in wireless updater, I got this message;
Warning: Your System was damaged! Wireless Update is disabled.
What do I do? Should I return this unit to the store where I bought it from?; or there are some trouble shooting that can be done to fix this problem.
FYI: the current firmware installed in this tablet is version 7, and the updater was able to notify me of the latest version 8 release, and was even able to download the 383.1 megabyte size of data; believing to be the actual Rom containing the updated firmware. But when I hit OK to begin the unzipping and installation, it took the tablet for more-or-less 3-minutes to respond. And when it finally did, was then the prompt appeared saying “Warning: Your System was damaged! Wireless Update is disabled.”
Any informative help would be so very great, and deeply appreciated!!……… …so many thanks in advance…, to those who will be offering there assistance!
