In October of last year, Sony announced that its entire Xperia Z lineup will receive Android 5.0 Lollipop in 2015. Good news if you own an Xperia Z device, however, bad news for owners of old non-Xperia Z devices as Sony has admitted that they won’t receive the OS upgrade.
Sony Xperia M2 Aqua
XperiaBlog found a few Tweets from Sony Xperia’s official Twitter account advising that the “Android 5.0 Lollipop update is going to be released for the entire Xperia Z series only” when asked if the Xperia M2 and Xperia E1 will get Lollipop.
@VIVSNO Hi. We can advise that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update is going to be released for the entire Xperia Z series only, we do apologise.— Sony Xperia (@sonyxperia) March 4, 2015
@_OzzySanttana Hi Özzy. The Android 5.0 Lollipop update is only going to be available to the Xperia Z series. We do apologise.— Sony Xperia (@sonyxperia) March 6, 2015
If that’s the case then this could also mean no Lollipop upgrade for other devices like the Xperia M2 Aqua, E3, C3, T2, T2 Ultra, and T3. Exempted here of course are new Xperia devices like the Xperia M4 Aqua that will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop.

the question is when will the update come?
