The Nokia Lumia 610 was finally unveiled at the MWC Nokia press event and is positioned to redefine what is “entry-level†for a Windows Phone.
Here’s why.
Let’s start with the basic specs:
• Running Windows Phone 7.5
• Powered by an 800MHz single-core Snapdragon S1 processor
• 256MB of RAM
• 8GB of internal storage
• 3.7-inch WVGA TFT LCD (480 x 800 pixels)
• 5MP camera w/ autofocus and LED flash
• HSDPA, 7.2 Mbps & HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps capable
• WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
• Bluetooth 2.1
• GPS
• Measurements at 119 x 62 x 12 mm
The Lumia 610 will be available in four colors (white, cyan, magenta and black) and will hit the market in 2nd quarter of 2012 for the price of 189 euros which is about Php11,000. Is it cheap enough or what?

yung iba kung maka comment parang nakabili na ng nokia 610
IC DeaDPiPoL says:
most likely it will be priced 3-5k higher based on euro conversion
YoungTech says:
Conclusion… Windows Phone + Nokia = Amazing. :) With the good quality of Nokia plus an amazing operating system, Windows. The Nokia 610 will be most likely a best phone for teenagers who are addicted to social networking and Nokia Lumia 900 for adults who wants to be up to date in technology.

tingin ko mahal sa widgetcity yung lumia only because alam nila na hindi pa sold sa pilipinas yung lumia and hence yung mga gustong gusto yung phone should be willing to purchase it ng mas mahal. kapag lumabas na ang lumia sa regular channels, bababa rin ang prices niyan.. hehe
Mitch says:
no need for ranting dude. Hindi naman ibigsabihin na phone manufacturer sila eh hindi sila pwedeng pumalya. alam naman natin na baguhan lang ang Nokia sa smartphone wars na toh. atsaka take note na kahit anong sabihin niyo eh business is business, and they WILL say just about anything to sell their products.
Marc says:
Nokia + Microsoft = Pure Genius! Now i can understand the logic of the Swedish giant. More Competition = more happy consumer like us, so guys relax lang.
r41n says:
In the mid-range to low end department, Windows Phone > Android. All mid-end and low-end Android devices are crap. Only Sony does not suck in mid-end. I’m sure Windows Phone will dominate that market.
Levite says:
Nothing to worry guys. Unlike Android phones with lower RAM, Microsoft made sure that developers of 5% apps in the Marketplace where Tango phones will have difficulty running are already notified to tweak their apps for smoother operations.
The lowering of the specs bar is a business move by MS to cater for more market worldwide. Although of course, may konti sacrifice like no live tiles update, only manual updating sa skydrive and some background tasks na medyo tweaked din. But the UI is still buttery smooth.

as soon as this hits the Philippines officially, it will definitely be overpriced, just look at what happened to lumia 800/710 being sold by widget city
nexusboy says:
Call it low-end but don’t call it cheap.
YuYu says:
weird. i thought WP7 has a minimum spec for it to run & to have a fluid user experience? but now this? hmmm.
john says:
learn to read before making stupid comments bro. the specs indicate 256MB RAM and it will run tango which is intended for low-end devices.

Salma says:
ung iba dito parang engineer ng microsoft. DAMING ALAM!!!! Do you think, papayag ang Microsoft na 256MB lng ang RAM nyan kung alam nilang outcome ng performance ay POOR?!!!!! Bago magreact alamin, hindi ung nagdudunung-dunungan pa kau sa mga engineer at manufacturer!
21 says:
yeah it’s much cheaper, but with that processor. still u can find a much cheaper android phones, or u can just buy the HTC mozart..
'em says:
I read on a blog that Microsoft wants WP7.5 to be “low-spec” handset-friendly (256MB RAM), and if an app runs poorly, it will be tagged as unsuitable in the Marketplace.
camhiliciouz says:
i simply dont get the comparison of this phone to Samsung Galaxy Y.
.processor, siguro (unless my big difference sa performance between Snapdragon S1 processor vs. Broadcom BCM21553 ARMv6 )
.memory wise, siguro din
.screen NO. (obviously mas mataas ang pixel density nitong lumia compared to Galaxy Y’s 240×320 pixels, 3.0 in (~133 ppi pixel density) TFT capacitive touchscreen, 256k colors)
.screen size, well mas malaki ang lumia by .7 (its as big as the iphone 4/s’s screen)
.Camera, 2MP lang galaxy Y 5MP etong lumia both autofocus but the latter can do Video recording is 720p at 30 frames per second.)
.built, Lumia is of the elegant size as what reviewers describes it while the Y is of the cheaper built)
.internal memory, 160 mb ang Y and 8G ang Lumia (obvious naman dito, higher internal memory, the more expensive the phone gets)
. then the OS, although apps wise mas marami pwede iprovide ang Android, FREE yung mismong OS, yung Windows 7.5 is a premium one, meaning parang iOS, may BAYAD.
and if you happen to see a Galaxy Y (my brother has one) mahiya ka tumabi sa ALcatel Blaze Duo 918n (my mom’s new phone).
well ON A SERIOUS NOTE.
given the current price point of Windows 7 phones, this is already a good catch plus Nokia ( i still believe Nokia makes good quality phones).
yun lang, sana maPEG yung price sa 11k. but anyways, Widgetcity is always here to assist ha. hahaha XD
cheers.
JC dela Cruz says:
***This device will not run on the existing Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) but rather on the updated Windows Phone 7.5 (Tango)- to support low end devices – which will be publicly release on April 2012.
dj0502 says:
320*240 ay malayo sa 800*480 sa tingin ko and the 5mp can speak for itself lang if lower end segment ang usapan.. Pero sana it can go for retail at least at 10K max, if titingnan mo lahat ng lower end galaxy at xperia, against 610, I think magkalayo sila sa performance.
JC dela Cruz says:
Hope the OS will run on Galaxy Y
androidfanboy says:
Same specs with the Galaxy Y? Windows Phone is a premium OS. I once owned a Galaxy Y and immediately sold it because I was not satisfied. The screen alone makes it look cheap.
Mitch says:
Yeah, normally pag $200 ung phone paglabas dito somewhere around 12-13k ang labas. Assuming n 11k phone siya, halos same lang specs nya s galaxy y plus the screen resolution and 5 mp camera. Pero more than double the price. Justifiable? I think not.
Benchmark says:
Wow, this is a good phone, but I assume it would not be around 11k, due to the fact of those taxes (which is being stolen by most gov’t officials here in Ph).
But then again, there are some online shops which I think would be cheaper in the market. :)
Vekou X Aitenshi says:
Iba ata ang computation ng mga retailers dito sa Pilipinas, 189 euros=24,000 pesos.
Fleeb says:
Mozart is still selling for 12.2K-12.9K.
ice says:
Looks better than 710 but have a couple of limitations:
* Around 5% of the apps can’t run due to the 256MB RAM
* Does not support generic background tasks that update the live tiles or cache data
Still a good phone, though I wish it’d come cheaper.
zerd0t says:
To get a higher market penetration, WP7 will need to go cheaper. Php 11k is still too high for an entry-level phone in Asia/Africa.
