Nokia is serious with its push to be make Ovi Maps and their GPS-enabled handsets to be the center-piece of our private cars. This is why they will start shipping selected units of their mobile phones with a free car charger and holder.
That’s on top of Ovi Maps pre-installed on every new handset they roll out the door.
In a short presentation by Nokia reps this afternoon, the handset manufacturer revealed that new units of their Nokia N97 and Nokia N97 Mini will all come with a car kit (charger and cradle — about Php1,500USD 26INR 2,167EUR 24CNY 186 in value).
Other units like the Nokia X6, Nokia E72, Nokia E52, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and Nokia 5230 will also come with a holder you can hook up inside your car. Their prices will all remain the same.
You should be able to get these additional accessories when you buy a new unit starting next week (just look for a newer and bigger packaging). The Nokia N97 is now selling at Php24,200USD 412INR 34,959EUR 393CNY 3,003, the N97 Mini at Php21USD 0.36INR 30EUR 0.34CNY 3,00, the Nokia X6 at Php18,000USD 307INR 26,003EUR 292CNY 2,234, the 5800XM at Php12,850USD 219INR 18,563EUR 209CNY 1,595 and the Nokia 5230 at Php7,900USD 135INR 11,412EUR 128CNY 980.

I called the Nokia store at ATC and they said that only the N97 mini is available priced at P22,990. That’s a P2,000 markup from the price here! Could anybody tell me where I could find these phones at these prices?
