Nokia X3 Touch & Type touches down

Nokia just outed a new iteration of their candy-bar X3 handset and it now comes with a touch screen on top of the alphanumeric keypad (a rare combination).

The original Nokia X3 was announced back in September 2009, along with the Nokia X6.

This newer Nokia X3 (X3-02) is dubbed the Touch & Type which combines the usual alpha-numeric keypad and a touchscreen display.

Nokia X3-02 Touch & Type
2.4″ display 240 x 320 pixels
3G/HSDPA
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 2.1
up to 16GB via microSD
5MP camera
FM Radio

The display has a resistive touchscreen and I’m looking at the X3-02 as a younger sibling of the full-qwerty Nokia X5. Nokia puts the suggested price of the Nokia X3-02 at 125 euros (roughly Php7,300) before taxes and/or subsidies.

  1. The small screen makes the touch screen pretty much useless.

  2. @abeolandres X5 is the one with higher M.P. with regard to camera Sir?

  3. I agree with Jon. But 5mp camera make sense for 7~8 nokia phone.

  4. let’s just hope that the web browser is good for an s40 phone.

    looks nice.

  5. Cool! Kelan labas nito? Inaabangan ko ang Nokia e5 naiinip na ko. Pero kung meron na nito masaya na ko dito.

  6. ..nakakalito yung keypad..sabagay touchscreen siya….

  7. Nokia should have made it as an Android unit. It’s ugly, more like a China Phone to me. >=)

  8. Interesting phone. Abangan ko release nito sa pinas

  9. wala bang flash ung camera? looks like a china phone.but nice design though.

  10. …..more of an ipod nano for me….with calling and texting added features…hahahahah

  11. this is definitely inspired by chinese nokia phones e.g. 3208c with touch and keypad combo… the only irk i can find in this phone is the china-phone-ish keypad layout… it cheapens the over-all look of the phone… this is the first time nokia used this kind of layout…

  12. When will it be out at the market here in Phils?? :)

  13. i love love love this. cant wait for the release

  14. Parang maganda naman sya in totality..
May tentative release date na ba for the Philippines?

  15. i am looking forward for its arrival in the philippines…hmmmm

  16. this phone is eFFin’ awesome. i have this one right now bought from dubai.

  17. how much is nokia x3(x3-02) i like the pink one, paano ko mka order?tnks.

  18. i checked X3-02 at globe site coz i’m interested with its postpaid. but swell, it’s a completely different unit. it’s not the touch and type. i’m so disappointed. :(

  19. maganda tong phone na to…
    can’t wait to buy one…
    pero la pa budget…

  20. Got my unit….bought it PHP 8,300 , 4th floor megamall…Very nice features….5mega pixel camera/ stereo speakers/ wireless b/g/n (fastest in the market)/ customizable home screen/ 3D gaming/ facebook application/ youtube streaming is very fast (using wifi)/ mahirap lang gamitin sa umpisa gamitin yung touch screen sa browsing kasi may technique pa zoom in muna bago click hehe…laki kasi daliri ko,,,, the best phone for me because i love music and facebook….and also photography hehe

  21. that is the phone for me!
the problem is, its not waterproof! its also not shockproof..

  22. I bought this phone for my husband and he absolutly loves it. He is a type of person who doesn’t like new touch screen phones. So to make this transition smoother for him I got him this phone that combines best of both worlds and he just loves it. It gives him ability to still use keypad if he’d like as well as slowly get use to touching technics. In addition, this phone is very “good” looking: small and modern looking, which is a big plus. Also, pics are great, talk hours are great(even though it is half touch phone, easily go for three days without charging). In general, great phone for people who still would like to use keypad.
