OnePlus 10 Pro vs. Xiaomi 12 Pro Comparison

OnePlus has recently announced the OnePlus 10 Pro and it looks like it will be released almost in the same period as the recently launched Xiaomi 12 Pro. Both are currently in the pre-order period and are priced similarly as a flagship handset.

With both having a suggested retail price shy of Php50,000, it’s quite interesting to see which one offers a better deal for your hard-earned money. So, we break them down here and give you the low-down.

Display

Both smartphones have large screens above 6-inches. The Xiaomi 12 Pro though is a bit larger but for just 0.03-inch which is already unnoticeable. OnePlus 10 Pro supports QHD while the other device only sports an FHD resolution.

The OnePlus 10 Pro also has a slightly higher pixel density but is negligible. Both phones feature an LTPO AMOLED too with 120Hz refresh rate. The OnePlus Pro comes with Gorilla Glass Victus at the front and Gorilla Glass 5 at the back.

There only huge difference is that Xiaomi 12 Pro has the tougher Corning Gorilla Glass Victus set against the Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Aside from that, they’re almost a tie in this department.

Chipset

In terms of their chipset, both smartphones have the powerful Qualcomm SM8450 Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 with a benchmark score of 1037116 in AnTuTu.

Memory and Storage

Both smartphones feature up to 12GB of RAM but in terms of storage, OnePlus 10 Pro offers up to 512GB compared to 256GB on the Xiaomi 12 Pro. Both devices have UFS 3.1 storage type which has excellent read-write speeds. Don’t expect any microSD card because both devices won’t offer it.

Cameras

The two have the same 50MP for the ultra-wide. But, Xiaomi 12 pro has the same 50MP for the main camera and telephoto while the other one has 48MP for the main camera and a pretty low 8MP telephoto.

For selfies, both have the same 32MP cameras. OnePlus also boasts of a Hasselblad Color Calibration but that remains to be seen in the actual camera comparison.

Connectivity and Features

Both devices have a good set of connectivity features which include dual-SIM, 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, USB-C, stereo speakers and under-display fingerprint scanners.

However, only the OnePlus has the verified IP68 dust & water resistance while Xiaomi has an extra IR Blaster, which means you can use your phone as a remote control. The two devices are powered by Android 12 with custom skins.

Battery

Concerning the capacity of the phones, OnePlus has the advantage with 5,000mAh battery which is 400mAh more than the latter. However, the other one sports a remarkably impressive charging rate at 120W, against the 80W of OnePlus.

Which one to get?

So, who wins?

Go for the OnePlus 10 Pro if you prefer the large 512GB storage option, a larger battery capacity and IP68 dust and water resistance.

Go for the Xiaomi 12 Pro with gets plus points with a better main camera and telephoto resolution, an IR blaster, and a faster charging rate.
