Two newly released smartphones in India will be put side-by-side to see which one comes out on top — the OPPO F7 or the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5?

OPPO F7 also launched yesterday is considered as the company’s latest front liner in their selfie smartphone line-up. Here are the advantages of each smartphone:
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro
+VoLTE support
+ IR Blaster
+ Larger battery capacity
OPPO F7
+ Larger screen size
+ Slightly larger screen aspect ratio
+ Slightly higher horizontal screen resolution
+ Better display type
+ Slightly better CPU performance
+ Dedicated microSD card slot
+ Higher rear and front camera resolution
+ Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box
First off, the display types of both devices are excellent for users’ viewing experience. However, the OPPO F7 has it better in terms of all display aspects but only by a little. If users are fond of watching or streaming videos, the latter is the right choice for you.
The processors on both devices have an A.I. technology. The Helio P60 gain the advantage in terms of power efficiency and overall performance due to its 12nm architecture and the components that it has as compared with the Snapdragon 636 (14nm) of the Note 5 Pro. Based on internal compositions of each processor, the Snapdragon 660 should be ahead of the Helio P60 and followed by the Snapdragon 636.
We can’t say much about the GPUs at the moment since the Adreno 509 of the Note 5 Pro and Mali-G72 MP3 of the F7 doesn’t have much information yet.
The F7 has an advantage in terms of the rear and front camera resolutions since they are both higher. As for the sensor employed in the front camera, Note 5 Pro uses a Sony IMX 376 while the F7 has a Sony IMX 576, which is the newer version of it.
Another thing to note is that the AI beautification technology of the F7 is an advantage for users who like to take selfies.
The battery capacity of the Note 5 Pro is larger than the F7 but that doesn’t automatically mean that it will last longer. As we’ve been saying in our comparisons, there are other factors that will affect the battery life of a smartphone and that includes the display type and size, chipset, and operating system.
Lastly, we should note that the Note 5 Pro has an IR Blaster while the F7 does not. However, the latter has a dedicated microSD card slot which is always a plus.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is priced at Rs. 13,999 (~Php 11,365) for the 4/64GB variant and Rs. 16,999 (~Php 13,801) for the 6/64GB. The OPPO F7 is priced at Rs.21,990 (~Php17,700) for the 4GB/64GB version, and Rs.26,990 (~Php21,700) for the 6GB/128GB.
From the initial bout, the F7 wins in overall key aspects but if we base it price-wise, it’s better to pick the Note 5 Pro for users who have a tight budget. What do you guys think? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

Adreno GPU is better than mali always, and sony camera is better even if it has lower mega pixel. Xiaomi is cheap, oppo sucks.

Do you know when will Redmi Note 5 Pro be available locally?
EGGO says:
will wait for further actual reviews kung cnu ba tlga ang mas efficient sa dalawa in real world usage.. if we just rely on specs. almost equal lng ang dalawa however may mga dapat i-consider to fully utilize ang capability ng bawat isa.. nakadepende rin kc yan sa implementation of operating system nila. pero kung tiwala lng sa processor sa tingin ko mas may edge c SD kc subok na.. C mediatek e cnusubukan bumangon ulit using this newly released processors at sna nga maging successful na cla this time.
Danniboy says:
I suggest you use Redmi Note 5 (China variant) for comparisons as it is the version that’s likely to come on Ph shores. Redmi Note 5 Pro moniker is exclusive to India. To quickly distinguish which is which, front cams are 20mp vs 13mp.
