The Philippines is one of the first few countries to see the Oppo Find 7a as it is not yet released in the United States. After a week of its local launch, a TWRP custom recovery is now supported by the device thanks to developers. Now, users of the Find 7a can manually backup and restore their entire handsets.
TWRP or TeamWin Recovery Project is a touch-based custom recovery tool that was originally made for Nexus devices. It didn’t last long, though, before it was made available for other smartphones and tablets. Using TWRP, not only could you fully backup and restore your Find 7a, but you can also wipe data and install custom roms with it.
We know how much Android users love rooting their smartphones and adding mods (after all, that’s one of the main reasons people prefer Android over iOS) so here’s the download link for Oppo Find 7a’s TWRP.
Once you’ve downloaded the .img file, follow the steps as instructed by TeamWin:
Go into settings and enable USB debugging. On your computer type:
adb reboot bootloader
Your device should now be in fastboot mode. Type the following command, changing the recoveryfilename to the correct path and name of the image you want to flash:
fastboot flash recovery recoveryfilename.img
Note that you will need to change the last part to match the name of the file that you just downloaded. You will also need adb and fastboot for your computer.
