OPPO R17 Pro with triple cameras now official

OPPO has released their newest smartphone in China, sporting a waterdrop screen, the new Snapdragon 710 chipset, and triple cameras – the OPPO R17 Pro.

The OPPO R17 Pro features a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a waterdrop screen technology that is also found in the OPPO F9. It is powered the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core chipset with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.

Perhaps its most interesting feature is the triple camera setup: 12MP + 20MP + TOF 3D Stereo Camera. If you’re wondering about the third camera, that’s the TOF camera or time-of-flight camera, which is a range imaging camera system that can gather detailed 3D depth information of a subject. Vivo also introduced the technology back in June.

OPPO didn’t go into detail on what the TOF 3D stereo camera can do for the R17 Pro but it said that it can obtain high-precision 3D depth information through infrared light measurement, use it to take 3D photos, and connect it to your TV and turn it into a home game console.

Other features include an under-display fingerprint scanner and two 1,850mAh battery packs for a total of 3,700mAh capacity with support for SuperVOOC charging.
