Here are the differences between each smartphone:
OPPO Reno
OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition
There’s not much to mention when it comes to the differences in their design; however, it’s worth noting that the OPPO Reno has more color variants than the 10x Zoom Edition. The former has six (Ocean Green, Jet Black, Nebula Purple, Pink Mist, Coral Orange, Inspiration Edition) while the latter only has two (Ocean Green, Jet Black).
In terms of display, the 10x Zoom Edition has a larger screen with its 6.6-inch size as compared to the Reno’s 6.4-inch. They both have AMOLED displays, though, which means that the screen has darker blacks and consumes less power than IPS panels. The Gorilla Glass 6 protection on both devices also gives people relief, especially if they have butter fingers.
For performance, the Reno only has a premium mid-range chipset while the 10x Zoom Edition comes with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip which should automatically place it as the better performer between the two phones.
The showcase of the 10x Zoom Edition is, you guessed it, its zoom technology. While the Reno’s camera setup is promising already, this flagship device steps up the camera performance game even further. We previously reported in May 2019 how OPPO’s Vice President demonstrated the 60x digital zoom technology which rivals the Huawei P30 Pro’s 50x zoom. We’ll know more once we test out the camera performance ourselves in the coming days so stay tuned for that.
For features, the 10x Zoom Edition comes with stereo speakers and Dolby audio support which is favorable for music lovers. OPPO carefully designed both the phones in terms of audio capability since the more powerful Reno phone doesn’t have the 3.5mm audio port while the regular one has it.
You should also note that the mid-range phone doesn’t have a microSD card slot while the 10x Zoom Edition has one which is quite weird given that it’s typically the other way around.
As for battery performance, both devices come with the VOOC 3.0 fast charging technology while their only minor difference is that the 10x Zoom Edition comes with slightly larger battery capacity.
Here are the prices of each variant:
We don’t know the local price yet of all the variants, however; reports stated that a variant of the OPPO Reno will be priced at PHP 26,990 for the 6GB + 256GB. What do you guys think? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
