Top Smartphones with Highest Antutu Scores

One of the more objective ways to determine the performance of smartphones is by running them thru synthetic benchmarks. After going thru hundreds of handsets in the last couple of years and using Antutu as one of our primary tools, we thought of putting them down into a chart as basis for comparison with other handsets we will review in the future.

This chart is not yet final as we gather more test results from a few more handsets but, for the meantime, we’re posting it already as we add more data.

Note: We have not have time to gain access or run the same benchmarks on a few more handsets we think should also be included in this chart. These are the Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Alpha, HTC One M9, Huawei P8 Max, Nexus 6, Galaxy Note 5, Moto X Pure Edition, and ZTE Axon Pro.

Locally branded smartphones like the Starmobile Knight X should also be included in the list once we get an updated benchmark score.

The scores posted above are based on our own actual tests, taking out multiple runs and logging the highest scores for each unit. Some of them have been re-tested after software updates.

it is a marketing strategy only. so that local brands phone will be dispatch. why? local brand phone belong to the high end smartphones to think its a good quality.

  19. russel says:

Justin ang bobo u. Pag ginamit u ang kahit anong benchmark test. Siyempre nasa maximum performance ang mini measure ng benchmark at naka maximum settings ang phone u. Kelangan ba nasa low performance o mid.? Wag ka tanga pre!!!! Ang sinusukat dyan frame per second, algorithms, ppi. Read and write ng sd card.different setting ng video. Multiple task application for ram and processors and higher graphics. Saturated color

  20. Justin says:

Tindi ng Samsung Exynos! Halatang nag-ththrottle ng performace pag tinakbo sa Antutu! Hahaha!!!

  21. Raffy Carabello says:

I’m not convinced. How are synthetic benchmarks objective in determining the performance of smartphones?

    • kchan says:

Think of it like money. It shows how much the system can spend on a certain app. Let’s say a game like NBA 2K17. The Samsung S7 in this test has 130k score. Let’s say the game asks for 40k in processing, and another 30k in graphics, 70k in totalm The S7 and others scoring higher has cash to spare. However, the S6 doesn’t have as much, so it needs to lower the graphics settings and game speed to be able to play the game. Also this shows how much overhead you have for background running apps, like Tasker. Think of those as maintenance costs (parang tubig at kuryente, sss, na automatic kaltas sa pera mo buwan buwan). If you have those apps running, then your AnTuTu score actually decreases. However it should be noted that this also doesn’t really show the full performance of the CPU, since the OS and other running services would cause throttling. Running Antutu on a new out of the box S7 will give a higher score than one that is fully set up with automated apps already. However I would point out that Yuga should do multiple tests as Antutu is not accurate. I already scored 140k on mu S7 Edge before on Antutu, on a fully setup unit with apps already running in the background.

And—sans jargon—how do you explain the relevance of these scientific calculations to the common user whose use case varies from person to person, from day to day?

    • Abe Olandres says:

      They measure floating point operations.

In computing, FLOPS or flops (an acronym for FLoating-point Operations Per Second) is a measure of computer performance, useful in fields of scientific calculations that make heavy use of floating-point calculations. For such cases it is a more accurate measure than the generic instructions per second.

  22. Liannecimms says:

How about alcatel onetouch idol 3? do you have any idea when it will be released? tnx

  23. uheelkw oijdlk says:

Please also include other benchmarks in the table
    (such as GFX Bench, etc)

  24. Kaloy says:

Bali wala naman ang benchmarks if it doesnt reflect on actaul usage

    • uheelkw oijdlk says:

So how do you quantify actual usage and present it in a real data?

The Benchmarks are the closest thing we have for objective analysis without actually owning the unit.
These might NOT be perfect but they are the closest thing to actual usage simulation and serves as the basis for buying the unit.
They are accurate but still have room for errors

  25. acun says:

    http://www.antutu.com/en/view.shtml?id=7980

You might want to check that link and include the top performing phone last year [MX4] as it clearly outperforms other newer models. You’ve included the Meizu MX4 PRO, but the MX4 performs better [it is quite easy to get a score of 50K and above] than its more expensive brother in so far as synthetic benchmarks are concerned. I also happen to own both and the benchmark scores translate to real life performance.

Once it is complete, I hope the list will be as accurate and unbiased as possible. Thanks

    • Abe Olandres says:

We already added the MX4 Pro which we were able to test before. The list is biased/skewed based on the units we actually have access to, are able to buy ourselves, and was loaned to us.
