Qualcomm announces Snapdragon 670 Mobile Platform

Qualcomm has announced their latest chipset and newest member of the Snapdragon 600 series, the Snapdragon 670 Mobile Platform.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 succeeds the Snapdragon 660 from last year. It features the Qualcomm Kryo 360 octa-core CPU with max clock speed of 2.0GHz, which the company says can deliver up to 15% higher performance than its predecessor, and Adreno 615 GPU.

It also has the Qualcomm Spectra 250 ISP with 30% reduced power usage compared to the Snapdragon 660 and support for 25MP single cameras and 16MP dual cameras, Qualcomm AI Engine, WiFi 2×2 802.11ac with Mu-MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, Snapdragon X12 LTE modem for peak download speeds of up to 600Mbps and upload speeds of up to 150Mbps, and Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+.

The Snapdragon 670 Mobile Platform is currently available, with commercial devices expected later this year.
