Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 smartphones you can buy in the Philippines

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1, the company’s most powerful chip as of writing, was launched in December 2021. It didn’t take long, though, for smartphones carrying the said chip come out of production with some of them landing in the Philippines. If you’re wondering what Snapdragon 8 Gen1-powered smartphones are available here in the country, find out below.

The smartphones below are listed in no particular order.

Motorola Moto Edge 30 Pro 10

First up is the Moto Edge 30 Pro that launched in the Philippines last month. This one has a 6.7-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080) OLED display with 144Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 3 front, 50MP triple-rear cameras, 60MP front camera, and IP52 water-repellent design.

Powering it is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB UFS 3.1, Android 12, and a 4,800mAh battery with support for 68W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and 5W wireless power-sharing. It is priced at PHP 34,995.

realme GT2 Pro 21

Next is realme’s most powerful smartphone as of writing, the realme GT2 Pro. It has a 6.7-inch WQHD+ (1440 x 3216) AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, 50MP triple-rear cameras, and 32MP front camera.

Powering it is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB UFS 3.1, realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging. It is priced at PHP 34,990.

nubia REDMAGIC 7

Next is ZTE’s gaming brand nubia. The nubia REDMAGIC 7 features a 6.8-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080) AMOLED display with 165Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5, 64MP triple-rear cameras, 8MP front camera, and a built-in cooling fan.

Powering it is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 12GB/16GB/18GB RAM, 128GB/256GB storage, RedMagic OS 5.0 based on Android 12, and a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging (international model). The device is priced as follows. See listing here .

nubia REDMAGIC 7 Pro

The “Pro” model of the REDMAGIC 7 packs a 6.8 inches FHD+ (2400 x 1080) AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5, 64MP triple-rear cameras, 16MP front camera, and a built-in cooling fan.

Powering it is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 16GB RAM, 256GB/512GB storage, RedMagic OS 5.0 based on Android 12, and a 5,000mAh battery with 65W fast charging (international model). The device is priced as follows. See listing here.

Xiaomi 12

Xiaomi is not one to be left behind when it comes to releasing smartphones with the latest specs and in March it released the Xiaomi 12. It sports a 6.28-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080) OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus, 50MP triple-rear cameras, 32MP front camera, IR blaster, and stereo speakers tuned by Harman Kardon.

Powering it is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 8GB/12GB RAM, 12GB/256GB of storage, MIUI 13 based on Android 12, and a 4,500mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging, 50W fast wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. The 8GB + 256GB model is priced at PHP 39,999.

Xiaomi 12 Pro

If you want something more powerful, you can look at the Xiaomi 12 Pro which launched alongside the Xiaomi 12. This one has a 6.73-inch 2K (3200 x 1440) AMOLED curved display with 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus, 50MP triple-rear cameras, 32MP front camera, IR Blaster, and stereo speakers tuned by Harman Kardon.

Powering it is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 8GB/12GB RAM, 128GB/256GB of storage, MIUI 13 based on Android 12, and a 4,600mAh battery with 120W wired fast charging, 50W fast wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. The 12GB + 256GB is priced at PHP 48,999.

Samsung Galaxy S22 5G

Samsung is one of the first brands to launch its flagship smartphones in the country powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 with the Galaxy S22 Series. It was a surprising move considering that the company is known for releasing the Exynos models in the Philippines.

The Galaxy S22 6.1-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus+, 50MP triple-rear cameras, 10MP front camera, AKG stereo speakers, and IP68 water and dust resistance.

Powering it is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 8GB RAM, 128GB/256GB of storage, OneUI 4 based on Android 12), and a 3,700mAh battery with 25W fast charging, wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. It is priced as follows:

• 8GB + 128GB: PHP 45,990
• 8GB + 256GB: PHP 49,990

Samsung Galaxy S22+ 5G

We did say that it’s a series, so next is the Galaxy S22+ 5G. It sports a 6.6-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus+, 50MP triple-rear cameras, 10MP front camera, AKG speakers, and IP68 water and dust resistance.

Powering it is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 8GB RAM, 128GB/256GB of storage, OneUI 4 based on Android 12), and a 4,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging, wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. It is priced as follows:

• 8GB + 128GB: PHP 56,990
• 8GB + 256GB: PHP 60,990

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G

If you want the most powerful in the Galaxy S22 series, then look at the Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G. It features a 6.8-inch Edge QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz Dynamic refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus+, 108MP quad-rear cameras, 40MP front camera, AKG Stereo Speakers, IP68 water and dust resistance, and an S-Pen.

Powering it is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 8GB/12GB RAM, 128GB/256GB/512GB of storage, OneUI 4 based on Android 12), and a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging, wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. It is priced as follows:

• 12GB + 256GB: PHP 72,990

POCO F4 GT 18

And then we have POCO, a brand also known for releasing powerful smartphones at lower prices. To the point that it even rivals its sister company, Xiaomi. The POCO F4 GT sports a 6.67-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080) AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus, 64MP triple-rear cameras, 20MP front camera, and quad speakers tuned by JBL.

Powering it is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 8GB/12GB RAM, 128GB/256GB storage, MIUI 13 based on Android 12, and a 4,700mAh battery with 120W fast charging. It is priced as follows:

• 8GB + 128GB: PHP 27,590
• 12GB + 256GB: PHP 30,990

Based on the current listings, the most expensive model you can buy is the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G 12GB + 512GB at PHP 80,990. The smartphone with the biggest RAM you can get is the nubia REDMAGIC 18GB + 256GB (Supernova) at PHP 43,599. Then the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Gen1-powered smartphone available is the POCO F4 GT 8GB + 128GB for PHP 27,590.

    all S22 variants in the philippines are using the exynos chipsets.

      Wrong. Only the European regions are using Exynos for the S22 Lineup, ROW are using SD.
